The personification of creative spirits who found their calling from the best parts of the Brony fandom given a canon character. Having been in art school once, ‘Street Heart’ seems like a shoutout to any who’s found passion in the medium.

I think Izzy had the potential to be a most revolutionary character in MLP, someone who, when faced with the oppresively sad and divided nature of the world, chose to be nice, inviting, warm-hearted, and naively loving, all thanks to an act of kindness from someone she hadn't met. This doesn't seem to be the case in the show, as her more comedic traits get exaggerated because bright colorful cartoon horses, but I always appreciate the effort that was given to her.

Izzy instantly became my favorite in the G5 movie. The Netflix and RU-vid series definitely downgraded her though.

Izzy is my favorite pony in g5. I especially related to her in the movie. We both have a love of making art, we both have similar personalities, we both love glitter and jewelry, and I especially related to her just wanting a group of friends. And I’m happy she finally found hers! So I will defend Izzy Moonbow from the haters with my life lol

I would argue that Izzy not knowing anything about etiquette in an art gallery, is because she was the ONLY ONE with a creative drive in Briddlewood. Go see what the rest of the unicorns were like prior to magic returning. The word you're looking for is Doldrums. Talking about the missing art during WW2, need I mention the Fallen Madona with Big Boobies by Vanclomp? Oh also, it's called DA-DA-ism. As in a baby saying "da-da" not, D.A.D.A.

Personality-wise, she's clearly meant to be the Pinkie Pie of the group, but in the most surface level way. And Pinkie Pie (at her best) actually had a method to her madness. She wasn't truly just scatterbrained and chaotic, she's perceptive and uses her enthusiasm and comedy act to keep up morale during stressful times. Izzy seem to kinda lack a deeper purpose to her lol so random nature. Also G2 legit had an episode that straight up talks about Upcyling art near the end (the cursed teapot episode) and I just find that neat. ....I hope G6 will be a reimagining of G2, that show had potential but was held back by the attitude around animation for girls at the time.

I know comparisons are inevitable, but it gets rather annoying when they're used to dismiss a character like Izzy just because "Oh she's just another Pinkie". Not that you're doing it, it's just my experience in the matter and why I lost interest in G5, the fandom seems intent of being... well, a fandom, about it. And as my motto says: "Ew, bronies"

I mean, it's in the same universe as G4 and meant as a successor, so of course comparisons are gonna be made. *And as my motto says: "Ew, bronies"* If you believe that is a bad thing, which IMO feels too much like giving credence to people who are unable to distinguish the bad from the good, which isn't really a good point really - it's just being unfair to people out of (again IMO) laziness.

@@DanknDerpyGamer and as for your first point, comparisons being inevitable doesn't make them any less aggravating, I have ALWAYS been against shallow comparative analysis and calling Izzy a Pinkie clone is the laziest of them all, right up there with saying the G5 movie is simple because its message is just "r*cism bad :("

6:45 I do not think authors' intention was to make 10 y.o. girls think about their DEATH and what there will be LEFT of them when they DIE :) I do not see Izzy's main focus is the high art. It is just way too narrow. Creativity does not always produce something that you put into the museum and that can be passed through generations when you DIE. In fact, quite opposite. Creativity is not even about art. It's bout finding unorthodox ways to do things. In Gen4 everyone was creative in one way or another, and this was great. As you said, creativity is something that consists of several very different and sometimes conflicting treats. Although I agree they do not do good job with Izzy. And her creativity does not really pursue the goals of creativity. My hope is that they create ability to grow for her. But Gen5 is so unbearably chaotic. Or maybe their message is that too much ADHD... I mean, creativity! Too much without the constraint or someone to direct it is the bad thing? Maybe they're building her character arc and being unbearable oddball is just a part of her journey?..

Griffin village from Alumx and The beginning of harmony from Minty Root are t6he best animated ones I can think of off the top of my head. The great animation and how the dedication of some animators might inspire others to make their own projects and be creative. Is that good? I apologize in advance for wasting your time if you decide not to go for it. @@MadMunchkin

I have not seen the show, but there can be said something about the artist who doesn't do art for profit and just gets inspired by a favorite concept or a character and so on... It's sad to only make this character a child in an adult-ish body. What could work is that, despite her age, she could be someone who values the infinite potential of childhood creativity, and how growing up or getting a 9-5 in a grey office could make her miserable. Same feeling Kids Next Door gave me when they constantly promised each other they'd never grow up. idk, I think it could be a neat internal conflict. Since we see she has no direction, then maybe this is how it manifests and she has to learn that creativity with a goal is far more effective at moving mountains than... random spoons and being.. not fully conscious.

Izzy was one of my favourite characters when the movie came out. Her, Zipp and Hitch. But they all went through such massive character assassinations that Izzy became nothing more than a more annoying Pinkie Pie. Her characterisation of being a creative and her upcycling gimmick was extremely under utilised much like everything else that would've given these characters more depth.

I honestly don’t agree with a lot of opinions in this video While I do believe that most creatives strive to leave a legacy for themselves, this video kinda just ignores the fact that some creatives just create for the joy of creation. And I feel like she didn’t know how to act in an art museum because she just has been in one before. Just because she’s a creative artist doesn’t mean she would know museum etiquette, and I feel the same argument can be applied to the “art block” thing. While this video does make good points about art and the importance it has on our world, I feel like a lot of the video is either deviating from the point only to transition back on topic or comparing Izzy to Rarity, which isn’t the fair of a comparison as they are completely different in personality and see art in completely different ways I have no idea if I stated my opinion with the right transparency here, I’m just typing what comes to mind.

You make a very fair point. Izzy may just create for the joy of creating. I just personally feel that if she is meant to be the element of creativity, it should be deeper than that.

I do believe art can be everywhere But that's just my opinion I also believe that every artist is different when it comes to art itself and for Izzy I can relate to her in some ways I do believe arts should be fun and ask for graffiti art I love it

Izzy is my favorite character of G5 even more than Misty (she’s my second fav Izzy just took the spot first lol). I love her color scheme, the fact that she’s a unicorn (I’m obsessed with unicorns okay lol), the fact that she’s artsy and creative like me!!, but also that she can still be down to earth and has moments of feeling alone like in the first movie and then feeling out of place and missing Bridlewood once she finally does get the friends she’s always dreamed of. I’d say she’s one of my favorite MLP characters ever!! 💙💜

I disagree with your other video about G5 being a waste of time I think G5 is awesome but I do agree with this video I think Izzy is one of the best ponies of G5 she's my second favorite I like she is the element of creativity and likes to create things and is funny just like me my other favorite is Sunny Starscout! I am glad you are defending Izzy even if you hate G5!

G5 doesn't have a younger target audience as G4 for. It's just that G4's target audience grew up. It's a different generation for a reason. It doesn't just apply to the show.

I litterally have that at 3:46, dude. She's technically not part of the main 5 so she's not included in the image used at 3:27, but I still mention her element being empathy at 3:46 so no idea why you brought this up...especially since the video is about Izzy not Misty, and I make a comment saying Misty will get her own video. Just wondering if you watched the entire video or not.

i think g5 is my favorite of all my little pony shows. to me izzy is a lot like pinky pie. she is as happy and does a lot of stuff that pinky pie does. zip is kinda like rainbow dash. and pip is kind of like rarity because they both are into fashion sortof.

Seriously! Is the MLP franchise even worth it anymore? Its G5 looks so poor and bland. So why even talk about it like it has something really good? There are so much better franchises to talk about. Come on! Hasbro doesn't care so much about MLP and its other franchises, so screw that company! Just move on from MLP.
