Irit Landgraf I‘m amazed about the idea to use glassine bags in the journal. Did you use them before/ more than once? I thought about decorating them with colors and little embellishments to use them as a gift bag and in the journal of course. ☺️

Beate Koether this journal is the first time I've used them in an art journal and they are so fun! It depends on the bag but they get crunchy and yummy when you add paint on them. I love the texture!

Irit Landgraf Oh my...I just made two of them and they‘re gorgeous! The first one will be a gift bag for a very good friend. I made it look vintage and it turned out amazing! The second one had the wrong colors for vintage so I put it aside and finished it after the gift bag...and it‘s so cool. Thank you so much for sharing this! I wish I could show you!

Ok I just placed a rather large order this time using your link on Amazon and I hope you got credit for it. I got the set of Dina paints in the bottles plus the pen and a DS wc paint you recommended. Plus washi tape hehe. It was so much fun and I love this journal so much. You really inspire me, thank you so much Irit!

Still LOVE this....love your characters.....I need that crinkly paper and that dark black black gesso....have you tried the charvin pastels....I think they are semi hard I really want soft pastels but not sure what's a good brand?? Sure u must have a video but I'm down this beautiful journal flip rabbit hole right now 😅

Hi! I drew some, some are stamps (Dina Wakley has some, Prima has lots), some are collage papers by Jane Davenport, some my own printables... So really a mixture. You don't have to draw them yourself, use stamps, magazines, printables, lots of options! Good luck!

Hello! Love your work, its so inspiring! thank you for sharing! I love working in my dina wakely journal, I was wondering if you prime the watercolor/cotton rag paper before you paint with watercolor? I use the Dina Wakely Gesso on all the pages. The watercolor seems to flow better. I have used it without and find I have to work really fast with the watercolor medium. Your watercolors seem to flow over the paper much better. I use a combo of Schmincke, QOR and Sennelier.

Thank you for the kind words! Yes, this paper definitely behaves differently than regular watercolour paper and if you want more flexibility and flow it's better to gesso it.

Really love your style! I have been struggling with the small Dylusions journal and I wonder if it’s the size and rounded corners. I love this size, but those burlap/canvas pages seem a bit tricky for a beginner like me.

I think the trick is to treat them like paper, or with the burlap like a message board. Make something pretty and just attach it on top of the burlap!
