Art Matters: The Death of Art vs the Art of Death 

The fact that the music for this video was done by Unicorn Heads is either serendipitous or ironic or both. See 7:10. Great video, though. The stale mockery of Hirst pieces like "Our Father Who Art in Heaven" and "In the Name of the Father" seeks to nullify faith while offering nothing in return - other than, as the video notes, the idea that we are meaningless meat. Revolting.

"We as Christians" could have used a more explicit descriptor. As a former Christian, I find life has increased in value simply due to its expiration date. Some "sweet bye-n-bye" is worse than meaningless when compared to this beautiful, wondrously terrifying life, here, now.

Hirst, Koons, and so many other modern "artists," have abandoned any traditional sense of craft and spiritual contemplation for the whizz bang pursuit of novelty at any price. Culture matters, and the culture we now have is as rotten as that shark.
