Thank you so much for this detailed presentation of exquisite things ,high prices are justified since those amazing artists are gone and the work cannot be duplicated. I hope more and more pieces will be found in museums donated by generous people to be seen and appreciated by all of us .
I would not characterize the work of Faberge as Art Nouveau. However, I think his philosophy of using even low value or flawed components in a way that serves the beauty of the final jewel is consistent with Art Nouveau.
