Nice clean space, and good energy. I have a large fishing tackle box for my paints, it has a large deep space on the top and has 6 pull-out drawers with different-sized spaces to put my oil paints in. This box sits on a long folding table with more paint and brushes in containers. Underneath the table, there is room for canvases. I also use the closet to store more canvases. I have an old tea wagon I put my palette and medium on. It has two shelves that contain medium, cleaner, and paper towels. I have a drafting table that has pull-out drawers where I keep my pencils, rulers etc. My easel is positioned so I can take advantage of the light from the window. At night I use a large light. I like the rubber mat to stand on, it certainly keeps the feet and legs comfortable.

Fishing tackle boxes can be really great for storing supplies! I use one for some of my charcoal drawing supplies - wasn't seen in the video as it is stored in my wood cabinet. Nice that you also have a rubber mat - it certainly does help to make it more comfortable!

Nicely done. I wish my Art room/Office was 1/2 as bright as yours is... my window is shaded with a shrub tree. But I want that because we have similar items where I live as you probably do in AZ. Always look forward to your emails and work. Thanks again.

I had a studio once that was completely surrounded by trees and was in cloudy/ rainy Seattle - so a very dark studio space! It is very interesting working with different kinds of lighting conditions. So glad you enjoy the work from Art Studio Life - thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much for showing your new studio. Your ideas and suggestions are such a help to me. The problem I have is storing watercolor full sheets. They are too large for most of my storage. Any suggestions? I absolutely love your idea of holding tubes of paint. Like you said, it is practical and aesthetically pleasing. Thank you again.

One idea would be to store those large full watercolor sheets in a portfolio. This will help to keep them safe. There are then racks you can get to hang portfolios on or the large sheets themselves. There are different types of designs that are sold. Hope this idea might help. Thank you for your kind words - glad you enjoyed!

Thanks for sharing - I would love to hear more on your collection of art books - I noticed as I improve with watercolors, my books are so elementary (but interesting), now I want to collect a few at a more progressive level (to help me keep improving!). Thanks again.

Thank you so much. It was really helpful. On my to-do list, is to clean and organize my studio. I have so much "stuff" I can't stand it, but it will be really difficult to part with some things. It's a case of the "what if's" I might want to use that material. How have you contended with that? Sometimes I can tinker in all kinds of media, beads, collage, printmaking, felting to name a few. It's over whelming. Thanks

The amount of materials sometimes can be a bit much at times. Though I have been able to keep my fine art materials to more of a minimum as I now know well what I need and use on a regular. However, when it comes to hobby crafting supplies for me... it can become a little bit overwhelming sometimes. 😆

Love seeing your studio. Interesting about the walls. I cannot change my walls and they seem to be a cad yellow medium. I have a North light exposure. I also have a bar light over my architect table which can be set on warm or cool which is very handy. One thing you did not talk about was your camera set up for your videos. Can you show that next time? Thanks for the tour. (Kathy)

Nice that you do have north facing light - that is the best light for a studio. I will be sure to speak about lighting in a future video - I think this would be a helpful topic!

Where did you get your parchment paper on your window?
@ArtStudioLife
@ArtStudioLife 4 месяца назад
I just got some from the grocery store - however, be sure to get the white kind and avoid the beige colored ones :) I made strips and pieced mine together

how do you bring your brushes back to life?

good question - I plan to make a video on this at some point. However, 'winsor newton brush cleaner and restorer' does wonders!
