What a super fun mix of art goodies to play and experiment with. I'm looking forward to seeing how you use a ton of them - the yupo paper (because I've only ever seen alcohol inks on it), the inks, and the neat empty marker-y thing specifically. But, no matter what, I know you'll be making some awesome art. Enjoy the new supplies!
I'm SO curious about the yupo paper! I remember having some before and using it with alcohol inks because that's what I'd seen or felt I was "supposed" to do, it will be really nice to try and use it in my own way.
Yay! A box of art supplies from Jackson's makes me so happy! It's always packed so beautifully and is pure joy to open, especially if I've forgotten what bits & bobs I've ordered along with that one thing I needed. Hope you have fun playing with your new supplies Iris!
the daniel smith's dot chart is awesome! I even use it for small detail on painting occasionally. really useful when it comes to choosing the right blue or green or whatever colour you are looking for. and Muted gray has been on my top 3 colours that I use all the time! I don't use black so that one and payne grey are used a lot. btw if you like the muted colour in ink, they have them as acrylic paint as well.
I've also purchased the DS sample watercolor swatch, it is really nice. Funny thing is, I am currently reading "Drawing on the right side of the Brain" too! Looking forward to your series on this.
Yay for art supplies!!! I’m looking forward to a swatch video (or one where you use some of this stuff. No pressure!). Also: you just crushed all hope for me ever figuring out inches. Though I now know that at least I’m in good company!
Hahahaha, I still have to translate. I guess I just have to keep some in my head (8in = 20cm. 12in = 30), but it still doesn't translate as easily as being able to 'see' or understand a length instantly from seeing a number.
@@iris-impressions-art 10cm = 4 inches roughly...therefore 4"x2=8" = 20cm 4" x 3 = 12" = 30cm...I do it all the time...but in the opposite direction as you😏...100cm = 39"...not 40" sadly...so the more metres you try to translate, the less accurate things get...but for simple book measurements...30cm x 40 cm = 12" x 16"...yahoo
So many goodies to try! I’m interested in those neo pastels, I’ll have to look into them. I always find I get added ooomph to sit down and do stuff when I get new supplies! I’m interested to see what you do with all of these!
Wow, that is a lot of stuff for a jar of white paint! I look forward to seeing what you do with it all. I'm still in the learning curve for SoFlat but really love how matte they are. I have Flashe sample sizes, not so much a fan but then again, learning curve.
So many yummy goodies! I’m a SoFlat fan. I tried the sennelier matte paint and don’t like it as well as it’s much thicker. I’ve also tried the Holbein colored gesso (orange) which I love but it literally cost a fortune for 1 container. I can’t wait to see what you make!
I love the haul! I'm sooo curious about the neopastels..and now you have me curious about the book, which I swear I've had in a cart more often than I can count but never purchased..
I'm so intimidated by the book... haha. It's SO far out of my comfort zone and far away from the type of art I create.. but any experience is good experience.
