Art Tips for Non-Artists: The Smash and Twirl 

The wine is for a boost of confidence y'all, twirling that brush takes a lot that what it looks.

I did this for my High School art portfolio. We had to make a certain number of paintings to use as an art portfolio when applying to art universities, and I did a painting using this technique. I just kinda played around with the paint, made these circles, and looked how it looked, so it became a whole background. My art teacher said I should use it to connect all of my paintings, so I did. All the pieces (of crap) I made for my portfolio had this technique somewhere within. I liked the technique, I just had never been taught proper painting techniques (I skipped 12th grade art. My school went up to grade 13, although my graduating class was the last year to have to do 13 years as they canceled the whole program for the year under us. Anyway, I skipped it because of a scheduling issue) so I kinda just made up my own... the circles looked cool. The rest of the painting(s) looked terrible. :S If you're a teacher, and you have to skip a kid a grade, please try to actually teach them a few painting pointers... especially since they were supposed to learn the year before, but because of bureaucracy, they couldn't. It's much better than ignoring them, expecting more from them than they are capable of, and then failing them... you know... just a heads up. Anyway, this was over 15 years ago, so it's no longer important. But yeah, I came up with this technique way back then. I doubt I was the first one, so I'm not trying to take credit or anything, but it does make for some really nice texture to a painting ^-^.
