I spent an entire day in that museum with my husband, taking in the beauty and reading every syllable on the display cards. I daresay 30 minutes does not come close to doing justice to these myriad magnificent treasures, and hope you will do something lengthier at some point in time.

Thank you, I’m delighted to be able to see this after the event. What a refreshing change to have people using art terminology, aiming at an art audience but accessible to all. I would’ve liked to have heard more about the photographic technique which was in the Kehinde Wiley piece. Was it painted in enamels or silvering and fired on? I used this to do some of my own research, on Shaw, informed thank you. I have worked in art education it for 30+ years, with glass as a special interest and this still give me a lot to think about. I’m inspired.

We are glad you enjoyed the talk :) The Kehinde Wiley piece, which was made by artists in Czech Republic, is all hand-painted using glass paint and enamels. No photographic processes involved in the glassmaking stage, only in the design/montage stage.
