Yes , i agree!Strangely, I didnt know this composer and this singer! I watched it 5 times! I love them both.I saved the full opera and recorded it on card!
Brilliant! I can say in all honesty that I’ve viewed and enjoyed many thousands of top class opera performances on RU-vid over many years but this performance by Franco Fagioli is by far the best because everything about it is perfection.
Solo musica dell'inarrivabile scuola Partenopea!
Franco is magnificent here. If you haven't heard the whole opera, you should rush out and buy it. It's a masterpiece. Artaserse by Leonardo Vinci. It's available on DVD too ❤️❤️❤️🎶💽
My goodness Mr. Fagioli! I'm speechless, in absolute awe. One of the most brilliant performances I've ever seen and heard! Thank you for such a majestic performance, and hats off to Vinci for composing this opulent masterpiece! Bravo!
Maravilloso, exquisito y conmovedor.
I discovered this video only two days ago and am enraptured with Franco Fagioli's voice. I have no idea how many times I have sat and watched this phenomenal performance. What a divine talent!!
I've got it in a loop & listen just before bed to cleanse my head of nasty news, politics, & pedestrian music Before the 4th round I'm already in dreamland👌😅😜🥱😴👼🙏
Franco's voice is magnificent! I can't add any more to what has already been said. However, I enjoy his performance just as much. The command of French baroque gestures, the slightly sardonic frustration that emerges each time he is turned back to go again, with the almost childish suggestion of exhaustion, the cheeky gesturing of the hand to the woman on his left in the final da capo, and so much more. You can tell he was just loving it all! Oh, and congratulations to the orchestra; those rhythmic accents are just spot on. Wow!
It's hard to listen to any other artist performing this piece, as it seems that nobody will be able to beat this Baroque perfection. Happy to live at the same age as Franco and to listen to this heaven-sent voice live and see this amazing personality.
Absolutely Mr. Amish, all the arias from this magnificent opera takes you on very high level of vocal capabilities. Truly a gem amongst the Baroque operatic repertory.
Sabeis?
I totally agree it was a well thought out and beautiful production with great casting. I wish more productions followed these lines. Poor FF has had some awful costumes and wigs in other productions that are bad enough to distract from his performance.
Quelle Interpretation !
Watch a couple of Jaroussky videos from when he was at his peak in the first decade and a half in the 2000s. His soprano coloratura was less forced than Fagioli's or Cencic's and his tone just ravishing enough to send a shiver down your spine on a high c'' (and no, I'm not gay).
@@tonyvillamotte4339 Jaroussky was indeed truly brilliant- angelic I'd day. Less forced- yes, but also less forceful and versatile, less masculine maybe. In any case, i love all of them 🙂
¡ AAAAH.
Bravo!
Hi. I come here a lot to listen to this wonderful aria, the divine singing, and see the delightful staging and choreography. No matter how many times I've visited - and it has been plenty - I never grow tired of this masterpiece. The entire opera, Artaserse, is available in full on RU-vid, and every single scene is just as marvelous!
Apart from this aria, I have found few more solo arias, duets from this divine Artaserse at different intervals and am truly blessed by these divine voices.
i never get tired of seeing this. Totally thrilling, gorgeous in every way. Thank goodness we were at Versailles to see this performance. Brilliant example of Fagioli at his best.
Naturally, the artist is awesome and magnificent, in his acting, singing, and masque, but we're not to forget about the fantastic orchestral ensemble execution and the conducting, for not telling about the composer orchestration.... !!! This is a real baroque performance in all its aspects, remembering us what has to be on 800-century performances.
Quite! The orchestra is fantastic here and brings new excitement and drama into the context that Handelians rarely dare. Fagioli's fiery vocal freakshow is an acquired taste, maybe: I haven't heard enough to have acquired it yet. Hitting the notes is one thing; elan and artistic finesse take time. Sometimes, the breathing seems half-panicked.
I just cant stop coming back to see this over and over again...i am convinced that fagioli is the greatest artist not just singer but artist as a whole that we the modern world had the chance to hear...farinelli incarnated a voice sent from heaven his singing is perfection from his high notes to his low from his coloratura to the fullness of his voice to his acting is just breathtaking ..his artistry is unmatched..i just hope i could see him live one day ..fagioli..history in the making
He is young and hopefully will mature as he is a bit rough around the edges now. He lacks finesse and control of his voice which time should polish. When you compare him to artists like Drew Minter and David Daniels, he shows his immaturity as an artist. Sorry, folks, he just doesn't do it for someone who is trained in the business.
Babach Lovari I don't see or hear anything wrong with his breathing. For someone that has listen to opera for four years, I find it extremly arrogant to come up with such presumptions like you know more than him that has probably been studying singing for a long time and is now a professional singer with lots of success and knows what to do with his instrument.
