Hi Sue! I love how you added the glitter to the resin for the phone grips. Such pretty glitter in such great colors. So very sparkly and pretty. Those paint colors are also beautiful, and I love the designs you made. I looked up the link for the phone grip that you posted and unfortunately that set is currently not available, at least for now. I do see they have other molds available for the phone grips. All the Arteza products look wonderful.Back in September I purchased "Metallic Acrylic Paint, Arteza Set of 36 Colors, 0.74 oz/22 ml Tubes with Storage Box, Rich Pigments, Non Fading, Non Toxic Paints for Artist & Hobby Painters, Art Supplies for Canvas Painting." I have yet to use them as I know these paints (which come in little tubes) need to be thinned for dotting. Sue, do you know if using Liquitex gloss varnish would work for thinning these paints? I fell in love with the colors. Unfortunately this set is not currently available on Amazon. Unfortunately my current budget cannot afford the paint set you used, otherwise I would order them in a heart beat!

I bought the kind you have to thin a while ago. And I used floetrol and liquirex gloss medium to thin and try them. The floetrol is way cheaper and can get it at Home Depot. BUT I decided I just wanted to thin them all out and put them in bottles. I read a lot do that. So I went with the floetrol because I didn’t notice a difference between them when trying them out. Now I don’t go through paints quickly because I use DecoArt for all my tutorials. I only use the others when I’m making stuff to sell or just my personal use. The floetrol evaporates. I bought expensive air tight jars to store them in and everytime I go to use them I have to add more. I don’t know if the gloss medium would to but I’m just letting you know. When/if I get them again I will thin as needed with what I’m using and just keep them in the tubes.

Watch for sales they have the quite often I bought the tube ones almost half off.

I use a 0.5 embossing tool. I bought mine from claritystamp.com. It’s by peramagano (I always spell that wrong but if you go to that website you’ll find it easy

Sue I love the Arteza!! But when dotting with larger tools it can be too thick. Can you show us how to make Arteza perfect for bigger dots? Or is it me?

I just squeezed the bottle and it formed a beautiful perfect dot. I have not played a lot with that yet but I’d try to use a bottle or cone and squeeze it out. If using a tool I’m sure you’ll have to re-dot on top of it several times. I’ll play with it more and post if I can accomplish it easily.

Can the Atesa iridescent paint be used for dotting instead of Deco Art Metallic paint? The consistency of theDeco Art Metallic is so “runny” for dotting.

Sure but these are iridescent paints not metallic. The difference is these will look like different colors at different angles as the light hits it. The metallic although looks the same on camera will remain the same color from each angle. Arteza does sell metallic paints as well but you will need to thin them a bit to dot with them as they come in tubes and are much thicker then the DecoArt. But then you can get the consistency you prefer.
