I've been interested in art fight for like 3 years now, but... I don't think I can do it :[ I am often too lazy and demotivated to draw, and I want to art fight more for fun rather than competitively. Making one drawing takes a lot of energy out of me, making reference sheets takes about five times more than that. Also for all I know I might get confused with the layout, I heard you have to label your art or something... I'm so bad at labeling cuz what if it fits two categories at once and I can only pick one ... Also I often get tired of interacting with people and I just want to disappear like I was never there. Overall I think I might not be welcome on art fight with my sheer lack of productivity, but I can't stop wanting to draw a few other people's characters for fun sometimes

While I haven't done AF as long here's something I'd like to share!. YOU DON'T OWE ANYONE ART. I'v seen so many people get upset or fight with people over this. While yes it can suck if you attack many people and not many attacks you back, im guilty of being sad about this too, don't let it discourage you !. Just remember this is just something fun, so don't harass anyone for artwork; if someone is harassing you ignore them. Just keep drawing, and if you're not having fun take a break from the site and do something for yourself!. Im someone who wants to attack as many people as i can back, but it causes massive stress and doesn't make it fun for me. This is something im still working on. So if this happens, step away for a while and take care of yourself💞. Don't feel the need to push. Stay safe, and care for each other because we're all just artists who want to create, and have fun!.
this will be my first time joining artfight, and tbh also the first time i'll be serious about art. i'm a very new artist, but artfight just seems like a lot of fun and i wanna join! i'm so worried my art won't be good enough though, i'm still struggling with drawing my own characters lol
This is like technically my first year of artfight lol I’m trying to get some of my friends to participate I’m so far successful in one This is a pretty well done video honestly I kinda knew the basics eye catching characters and site crashing reference sheets etc (that’s how you can tell I’m prepared lol) I checked your profile all your characters seem really cool honestly can’t wait for artfight so I can have a valid excuse to draw them I swear I’ll probably be sick drawing on a phone with my finger even more after this lol
as someone who never gets many attacks I am really hoping the tips you gave can help give me more reach!! I wish you good luck and threw you a follow. (Also the profile decoration was such an amazing idea, I wish more people did that!!)

I’ve only done Artfight once, so this’ll be my second year! I had a blast the first year so I can’t wait for this one >:] A little question: Are you still able/allowed to swap art with people after July? I thought a read somewhere that you weren’t allowed to but I might’ve misread and I can’t check atm

I lovve artfight, i'll draw so much the first half of the month and then explode hwhwhw but its alright lol personally i like taking a quick glance at everyones ocs and then picking one i like or even seeing if this person has gotten any recent attacks or not, always nice drawing for ppl who don't get much art ^^
I'm going to revenge every attack I get if I can, but revenge chains are usually reserved for friends! if you attack me, I attack back and you attack again I'd try my best to attack again etc though!
Just wondering not sure if I caught this is the vid or not it was kinda a background for drawing some refs but how do I get the 100x100 pixel things into normal pieces of art if that makes sense?cause they are very blurry but I see people with normal looking characters!
what i do is upload a square image (i do 800x800) and then once youve uploaded it to the character, you can select it as the thumbnail! it should be like...two boxes with all the art, the one on the right is the thumbnail!
I draw a fully shaded headshot and than a flat colored full body as a ref sheet, + some color blobs with text that says what it's for. And a little info on the oc, Can anyone tell me if this is good?
If you can’t use Discord to put images on your profile, what are some alternatives that you can use? (I was wondering why the images weren’t showing up anymore lol)
Ahhh this is my first time participating in Art Fight!! :D I’ve wanted to participate for a while but haven’t felt confident enough with my art to feel like I could :,< does anyone have any tips or etiquette thingies? I’ve watched a few videos but I don’t want to make any mistakes! ^^; Thank you for the video this will help a lot especially with the ref sheets, I had no clue what to do for those!
I dont put that much pressure on myself when it comes to doing ref sheets since i really dont expect/need any attacks, im just here to draw some snazzy and cute ocs for this year :3 (my self-esteem when it comes to art is very low and i want to try drawing for others to maybe start comms in the future, so im using this for personal gain heheheh) But i will definitely use these tips for next artfight and outside of artfight!!
Hey sorry if this is a silly question but I'm new to artfight and was wondering about how big you make your icons size wise? They look really clean and I can't draw anything in the size I gave myself other than the character name
I planned to prep early this year, got too busy and overwhelmed, so now I’m here two days before and no ref sheets lol. I’ve uh never actually made a ref sheet in my life.
Totally off topic but what program did you use to animate your sona? It looks really good! I recently looked for an app or site where I could do something like that with my art and Google was no help at all.
I have a question, I participated in art fight when I was 13 (19 now), but I can’t recall if you can do like not original characters, for example movie characters or particular designs to those characters, not good at making original characters and stuff so kinda conflicted now😞
Unfortunately, you can't upload canon characters. You are allowed to post fan characters, as long as you give credit to the original inspiration. (It's written in more detail in rule 5 of upload rules on the ArtFight website)
question if it’s okay: do you think it’d be okay to not have many oc’s displayed for people to attack in artfight? i only made like 2 characters in my entire lifetime and i dunno if it’d be too boring yk? thank you for the video advice regardless :)
for sure!!! it just means you'll get a lot more art of those 2 :D you can have 1 character if you like as long as someone's there for people to revenge

Yes, you can join at any point during the event. You choose which characters you want to draw from any listed on the site. Characters of people on your own team will earn you less points but that mainly matters if you care about it. You do not have to give art to the people who give you art. However, many players do try to reciprocate. There is no obligation to create a certain amount of art or attack a certain amount of people. Personally, I mainly use it for practicing my art.
I have so many character references to make and the stress it gonna trigger a burnout which is NOT what I want before Artfight. Also, I play Neopets. My life’s already a tab refreshing simulator.
