Classic UKGarage, I am SOOOO proud of the garage sound....gems like this makes me think about a time when life was slower and more gentle. Weekends were a toss between going to clubs having UKGarage nights or it sounds sad but staying in and listening to pirate radio stations (ICE F.M 88.4fm) and recording the tracks on CASSETTE ..simple times ❤tooALL
@@donnaevelyn5875 Hello Donna, I waited until Thursdays to Sundays for a London pirate station called IceFM 88.4fm it was such a great time waiting for classic tines to come on with cassette tape....my 15yr old daughter calls me a dinasaur for ever using something like a cassette, I showed her what they she sighed and laughed....
So smooth, so sophisticated, so energetic. I must admit that in hindsight the days when UK Garage ruled the dance floors were by far my favourite clubbing and festival years. Such a pity the sound and scene imploded. I still treasure those years
21 years old this tune is 😳. Reminds me of watching MTV every morning getting ready for school as this tune was always playing. One of my favourite garage tunes .🔥
I love all Artful Dodger songs but this one of theirs is definitely my favourite, the first time I heard it was a total magic to my ears and still is even now! Never gets old
Back in the days wen u heard something and you couldnt get to the radio fast enough to record it on cassette and u too poor to buy the CD them 90s 00s feels
When this song came out, I had it as .mp3 on my computer (downloaded from Kazaa or copied from a friend.. lol), from which I then made mix CDs to listen on my 5 second buffered discman
@@rubberonasphalt YES! Napster, Kazaa, Limewire. All the classics. We would find tracks without knowing the artist or song title. Our burned cds got maybe 10 good plays out of them. Lol. Great memories.
Or when you finally buy the cd it felt like you struck gold. And listen to it till you got sick of it. The best times! We were so grateful for the small things.
Loool so many peeps here from BGT.... this song is a BANGER... i use to rave to this back in the day and seen him perform this song many many times... long live H&G...
Just seen this geezer on BGT! wow he looks totally different, still an amazing voice thou. Loved this song when it came out, so had a few beers and slapped it on! Thanks BGT for reminding me and good luck Lifford!
I watched this guy perform at Spoony’s Garage Classical last night at the Royal Albert Hall and he was just as good as this near on 20yrs later. Should be a super star.
This song makes me emotional. Reminds me of the time I nearly fell in love with a married man. Nevertheless, beautiful tune and still love it to this day ❤️
His (Lifford's) performance on Britain's Got Talent is undoubtedly Grand Final worthy! He completely deserved the Golden Buzzer, even if there's a hint of nepotism. I reckon he's Top 3 material on BGT. He absolutely deserves a second chance in the music industry. Greetings and love from Australia.
Takes me back, chilling in the back garden with a cold beer, waiting for the night out ahead, early 2000- 2004 the best times to go out, no trouble, no idiots stabbing each other, just people having a good time, garage and rnb days were the best, feel lucky I lived through this era.
The first few lyrics basically explain social distancing. “Baby won’t you keep your distance, you’re getting too close to me, I’ve been feeling my resistance, melting away.” This is a great song!
i heard song before but i never thought he was the one sang the song until watched BGT, nice song and good voice. Best of luck to re-invent yourself (Lifford).
Early 00s was such a cool and classy time for British Urban music and the Garage scene. Good times, much missed now! You can take your modern grime stuff and shove it! haha
Everyone in the comments keep talking bout BGT but this song been out since like early 2000's. I'm actually surprised to just now see this video uploaded 3 years ago. Awesome song! Glad to finally see a video for it.
Oh my god, I would godamn STEAL a time machine and seriously go back to 1999 or early 2000 uk .so that I could experience what it was like to grow up and live in that time period. Wow, it mustve been such a great atomsphere.
@@samgreen4430 If you're interested in the 'Artful Dodger' story, read 'The Guardian' article on them, and listen to the edition of 'Secrets of a Dance Hit with Ridney' dedicated to them, and hear it all from the proverbial horse's mouth. Both pieces really reveal how 'touch-and-go' the whole 'Artful Dodger' affair was.
