We hope you're all having a fantastic week! We are really excited to share this weeks story with you. Tim and Erica are such a cool couple and we absolutely love the home they have created for themselves. We hope you enjoy the video! With love, Bryce, Rasa & Colby
@@Rebecca.Robbins Colby is our US based videographer who filmed this episode for us. We started working with other videographers during the pandemic to help create some overseas content while travel was difficult.
This tiny is like walking into an art gallery, only the art is everywhere .. on the walls, on the backsplash, on the cabinets. Every surface, every room is a talking point. A true artists' home!
My creative family of 6: artists, artisans, authors, Chef in training, photographer, have been displaced for a year and 3 months. We live in our 7 passenger van with stays in hotels and stays in campsites too. We have been following the tiny house movement for years, watching it grow in popularity as attitudes changed as did the economy. We are currently planning a budget, as my two oldest have secured jobs in the past month, plus my financial offering, to save, a year or so realistically, for a camper to live in versus our car with the dream goal of building tiny homes for our creative family in the future. Now that I've run on a ridiculous amount here, I'll leave off with this, my family absolutely love your channel and have followed since your beginning and this couple were one of our favourites! Sending everyone the best of wishes for a better and happier future! Sincerely, Kelly
I love what Tim said about creativity vs having a 'job.' Humans are instinctively creative, and I believe a lot of our stress and the problems in the world come from this creativity being thwarted. Erica and Tim have created a lovely home for themselves, did it in an affordable manner, made it sustainable, and are planning a passive solar home with the addition. Amazing! Well done. Inspiration for those who would like to do something similar. There is always a way. You just have to keep looking for it.
This has to be one of my favourite tiny houses I've ever seen! Everything is beautifully designed and clearly has had so much thought and consideration put into it (even down to little things like the laundry chute - great idea!). I also love how COLOURFUL it is! So many tiny houses are starkly white and I think that there is a fear that colour and pattern will make it feel cluttered and smaller, where as I think it can make it look cold and without character. But I think this kaleidoscope of a house proves that doesn't have to be the case. Also Fernie Sanders made me giggle!
100% agree with you about the use of color in tiny houses. Nothing but white and pale woods can make them feel more sterile than homey. Even a bright blue couch can help. Love the colorful wallpaper and shingles and multicolored touches in this kitchen!
@@serendipityshopnyc exactly what I was going to say. I watched a skoolie build recently, and it was a brilliant set-up with quality material, but everything was grey! It made me want to cry!
Exact same thoughts. It's a wonderful tiny house. So cool that they did all their own plumbing, etc, as well too, $40,000 for that beautiful home is epic tbh, and their phase 2 designs are awesome too.
He continued and continues to make vids where he's with the homeowners, but it's pretty silly to fly to the States for just one video that can be done via someone else's cooperation. Bryce does most of his own videos in NZ and AUS, so it makes sense to have someone here in the States who is happy to work here and send the videos to him there.
1st, I love the dog and the love they have for him/her... I also love the planning, organization, determination and artistry people like the featured couple have to make their vision come to life so tastefully. So much comfort, yet not a space/thing misplaced, forgotten or unused... Utilitarian with beauty...hopefully something I can attain as well..
I spent 32 years in this area and it is absolutely breathtaking but I also know that the rents can be extremely high. I love the house, I love the art, I love it all. Good luck in the future.
OMG Kitchen tile goals 😍 This is hands down my fave tiny house, mostly because of the artistry and also because Tim and Erica have planned and designed what I have been dreaming of for my husband and I. A passive solar home with extensions and space for creating . It's true that creating is soulfood for humanity, it's our essential nature. Looooovvve this inspiring and colourful home 🏘️ 💛✨🙏
Quite a surprise to see a Mid-Atlantic state this week! . Haven't seen the stunning Hudson Valley in years, but, I do recall be enveloped in it's beauty on a drive through. Quite fitting that artists should be there. Just loved the sophisticated sight lines, craftsmanship, color choices and practically of the house. It didn't seem squished at all . Wallpaper wonderful.
So much to like about this tiny house. Love the swinging arm table to seat 4 ppl. Backsplash small splashes of color. Homemade crafted birch kitchen cabinets. Tons of storage everywhere. Container garden surrounded by fence outdoors to keep out deer & other animals. Cozy living room. Wood workshop. Colorful patchwork blue exterior. Secluded location close to town. Thanks for taking us on a tour of your home.
I have seen hundreds of these homes and they always come up a bit short. No pun intended. This design is the most impressive and the finish work and decor are spot on. What a nice super talented couple.
My little mama loves watching your videos. She admires creative people who want to live in tiny houses, and she gets great ideas for living from watching your videos. Thank you!
It's virtually impossible for me to pick a favorite tiny house. Each of them are so uniquely created, each with its own uniqueness. This one is no exception. I love it as well 🥰
Gotta say, this video was a different way of doing your videos and though I felt wary of the change, this new perspective grew on me as I continued to watch. What a delightful couple, tiny house, and that dog makes me wanna squeeze 'em!!! I look forward to seeing phase 2, years from now!
As an artist myself, this project inspires me so much! everything is so well thought.... and all the small details like the colorful outside wall, the backsplash, the wallpaper... it is a truly unique home!
5:45, 8:14, 11:22, 11:44, 14:14 Squeee to the dog!!! : - D - 6:02 Muted multi-color hexagonal kitchen backsplash - 8:05 Dividing partitions for living room and loft! - Such a pleasure to see such exceptional craftsmanship and attention to design! Thank you for sharing!
Tim and Erica wonderful tiny house. What better than an art centered home. Something that inspires, and brings a sense of Independence from the workings of owing everyone and working just for that. I luv the part about the human need for creativity. That has inspired me to wake up and create beauty around my Life! 🙂
This is totally my husband and I. Two artists with a lot of need for creative space. I’d been wonder if we could even do tiny, but you all have really inspired me!
I absolutely agree that as humans, we have a need to be creative and our society has sucked it right out of us. Well, not all of us obviously!!! Their creativity shines through this house and hopefully inspires others to do the same. FANTASTIC JOB!!!
This floor plan changes everything that I previously thought about tiny houses. Kitchen at the end, bathroom in the middle, lounge (with an actual couch) at the other end…genius. Love it. Love the artist vibe. Fabulous couple.
Love their drive to by artists and look to their future home with not skimping on their principles. Great colours inside and out,I found it peaceful and wish them all the very best luck in finding their forever peice of land. X
Bryce I think that Tim and Erica have captured my absolute favorite build. It had plenty of space and functionality. It had tons of storage and really even more than that the character is out of this world! Really well done! I love the idea of them building on it as well. I look forward to seeing that video as well. Really enjoyed this one! They were a darling couple and a really smart build! Love from California😎💜🤟🏻🇺🇸
This Home's footprint maybe Tiny, but It's feetsprint is e x p a n s I v e. Tim & Erica have a Beautifully restrained color sense, meted out by desire rather than by inch or by pound (flesh). I throughly appreciate the whimsy of the Home's exterior, the practicality of garden fencing (although critters can climb and dig), and the inventiveness of Tim's workshop structure. Although there are lots of things to appreciate about this home, the two things in which I delight are the backsplash (I hope to eventually mimic it) and the intense, painterly, & deeply rich wallpaper. (I normally avoid wallpaper especially flowered.) Tim, Erica I am very happy for you and your four-legged partner. May you, your home, and it's home all come to settle all in the Divine Right Place and may your Joy prosper.
Man, I love their beautiful home! Their artistic touches everywhere make the home itself a work of art. And, I love their life philosophy of living more beautifully and meaningfully with less stuff. But an adorable dog is a must to really make life happy! (and or cat) (:
So many great comments about color and design... and I can't take my eyes off the fit and finish in every way, beings, structure, environment. Well done.
Such wonderful craftsmanship …pretty mind boggling to hear them say they did the entire build themselves with no previous experience. Beautiful inside & out, plus they were wonderful to listen to.👌.
Wow Bryce, what a beautiful tiny home, and I can really appreciate it because I am also an artist and love using my talents to decorate my small home, I love the outside of this tiny, beautiful colors, my favorite color is purple, so I will be painting my front door with a design I have created and then painting it with pops of purple. Thank you Bryce and Rasa for another wonderful video. looking forward to your next video, sending love and hugs, bye for now. 😊💜
I was immediately drawn to the outside of this tiny home it sort of reminds me of the colour of a paua shell. I love every aspect of how they integrated their artistry within their home. It such a beautiful tiny home. Thank you for sharing.
Love this little Lego looking structure, it's an absolutely beautiful work of art. My fantasy one day is to live inside such a treasure. It's the magical, purposeful, practical adornment on the pinky finger of Mother Nature.
I wonder if a(n apparently) single male, who just texts all the (apparently) single females: is the most desirable appreciator for this channel? His purpose seems pretty obvious. Just saying ! Diane the Dauntless !?
What fun! I love how they made so many colors and patterns work in their small space. It'd nice to see you out and about, Bryce. Yay travel! Thanks to everyone for sharing this delightful home by such a lovely couple.
WOW! I'm so impressed by this lovely, cozy, artistic home. Your story is so encouraging and motivating. The Hudson Valley is a magical area and it seems like you have a community as well. Thank you for sharing! God bless!! 💝💖💝💖
I love the colours on the shingles, it is an artful statement. We find it inside as well through the backsplash and the bold wallpaper. What a beautiful house!
