Thank you! let me know what you find. Do me a favor and get the app Seek on your phone. It is worth it. You level up when you find plants, animals and insects, etc. It's worth it!
Thank you so much, Heidi! I am actually kind of proud of this video and yeah, arthropods are simply amazing. Thank you so much for watching and please, share this video with anybody that might appreciate it!
You mention the Little Brown Bat and how it relies on insects for its survival in this presentation. I wish we understood if and how large scale dusting of agrochemicals impacts the health of the Little Brown Bat population. Pesticide and herbicide drift is not a good thing for people, so it's likely not a good thing for other mammals either.
Nice information about the bugs!👌 I hate spiders, but I like blue bugs and what you said about them brings a better understanding and entertainment of them 🤯
A very comprehensive explanation of your fondness for the little critters. Ironic that YT put an insect poison ad at the beginning for my view. Key words algorithm I guess. Anyway, I have a busy weekend ahead that won't allow for a trip to the woods, so I will spend a little time in my backyard looking under leaves.
I hope your weekend is a good one. Thanks for liking my video. I am annoyed that I get those kind of adds on my channel. I guess my channel doesn't have the most potential for many adds. :/
Apis mellifera mellifera. In the distant past it was thought that the queen bee was actually a king bee because what woman could actually rule so many subjects. Now we know the king bee is a queen bee and she doesn't govern the hive. She holds the hive together with her pheromones. The worker bees, who are all females, are the ones who govern the hive. As I stated earlier she just holds the hive together with her pheromones.
Terrific video! You're really helping me with teaching my niece (she's homeschooled). Insects are amazing creatures. Ants and Bees are two of my favorites. The arachnids I'm more interested in are jumping spiders (they ARE cute!) and tarantulas. Great job, Chris. I hope you're feeling well. Love from Philly...❤🐝🐞🦇🦎
Another terrific video Chris! Insects are truly amazing creatures and it's lucky for us that they do have exoskeletons! Just imagine how large they would be if they had endoskeletons. Pretty scary thought indeed! Really enjoy your videos................
Just today had a lecture on Carboniferous terrestrial eco-systems... it's very impressive how long many of these Arachnids have already been here. They are the true ironmen of our world.
This was an amazing overview of the Arthropoda phylum Chris! You covered so many incredible species and every shot was professional and interesting, you really did a great job putting this together. Insects and arachnids are so highly underrated, I think your channel does an excellent job of highlighting the animals that deserve the spotlight just as much as any big cat! Evan and I would love to get together with you soon, maybe we could dedicate a whole video to the arthropods! Amazing as always Chris! - Harrison
Thanks Harrison! It was tough because I pretty much winged the whole thing and then realized I need to dig up the clips to go with it. Your words make me proud, thank you. I would love to go on an arthropod expedition. There are so many to find out there. We need to go on a good day. I could use some company to be honest. Things aren't the same lately. But, in other news, I cut my hair, and then destroyed it by making modifications. Not cool. And I FINALLY got me a camera I can have more control over!
We need to plan a day soon! I’m sorry things have been rough my friend, if there is ever anything Evan and I can do for you, on a professional or personal level, please feel free to reach out at any time. I am sorry about the haircut though I imagine it looks good, and I’m glad to hear about the camera! Next time’s video will be better than ever :) - Harrison
When you say for example 100 species of bees left it would be more accurate to sap 100 species of known bees. Lots of animals and insects are being wiped out because humans and there are species of insects like be that have yet to be discovered yet and catalogued. Lots of bees from the past and lots from the present like their are Probly some undiscovered species lurking around rhe last 100 miles of forests that we haven't got a chance to tear up and make parking lots or what have you
Yeah, you are correct. I always hope and wonder if I would even know if I discovered an undescribed species. I have found things in the past that I have yet to find id for. The problem being there are sooo many and not enough good id resources for my neck of the woods.
I can't stress enough how underappreciated this youtuber is. I wish i had the connections to put him on. Being so educated and informed on your passion, bless his soul
Love Odonates, Lepidopterans, some Hemipterans and always thought scorpions and relatives were neat. Never liked spiders and Hymenopterans except honeybees.
Those are all pretty cool. Each have some really amazing species that I love, but as a whole, I need to vote for the Hymenopterans. Thanks for your comment. I look forward to hearing from you more
Ive been capturing and cataloguing all the species of animals and bugs in my yards lately so this video caught my interest. I live in the deep south of florida and i have all of these species right in my property. There even is a flicker bug that looks like a black bullet and hardens up when scared and flicks it self really high up in the air to escape predators. Any one know the name of it???? I call them flicker bugs
YES, the Click Beetle. There are several species you may have. They are so fun. The Eyed Oculatus is a big favorite and some even have bioluminesence. Another name for the smaller ones is the Skipjack. I have a couple videos about them.
I have questions about how dead insects originate from within legumes There are flies inside the cereal and fruit broad bean When I open it I find the flies inside How was it created? How was that insect created? Where did this dead fly come from? Please use advanced technology In order to know the emergence of dead insects We want to know how they were formed inside the legumes and fruits world of insects
The best and quickest answer is that there is a certain percentage of insect eggs and "parts" allowed in our store purchased foods. A great example is to but some small boxes of cereal or grain products and never open them. Not many months later, you stand a good chance of finding little beetles or larva in the package. They tend to die after a while due to lack of water. Oh the stories....
It's funny you asked that because I have been debating making a video on that, but Mothers and Fathers would likely be pretty mad I did - lol. Some times it's hard enought to get kids to eat
Another awesome vid I fell in love with them during entomology class it is sad they are going extinct.Happy world bee day Chris which is your favorite north American bee and wasp.
Hi Buddy! I am happy you like them so much also. Hmm. Favorite bee and wasp. Maybe the Cuckoo wasp because it looks so great and perhaps the Honey bee. They are just cute and amazing social animals.
