That's my late Uncle Bert shouting for the ambulance. He'd been an extra for years and started occasionally getting lines around the allotment. He hangs around the Nags Head in loads of Only Fooks and Horses too.

"Ben's gonna be different to you two, he's gonna be respectable" No luck there.

Another great episode of EastEnders. Poor Arthur and poor Pauline (she had everything in life thrown at her). RIP Arthur and Pauline!!!

When Arthur collapsed, he made the same noise he did, when he trashed his living room.

The actor has died in real life today, aged 92. RIP.

Trivia fact: Arthur's collapse was referenced in a BT commercial back in 1997. I remember vividly that Bill Treacher(Arthur) and various former Eastender actors each receiving a phone call from Letitia Dean(Sharon Watts), and when it came to Treacher he is seen working on an allotment answering his mobile phone to Dean mildly joking "I tell you, this digging lark is gonna do me in!"

That hit from Pauline's frying pan finally took its toll...

Poor Arthur, he had always been dogged by bad luck and it followed him right to the end. At least though, Arthur died on the allotment that he had loved so much rather than in prison. Rest In Peace to Bill Treacher, the actor who played him.

RIP in the real now Bill. Lovable and fine actor.

Always found it odd that Peggy would bang on about “us Mitchell’s” when she was married into the family rather than an actual Mitchell

No she didn't! Arthur was assaulted in prison just before his release. He went to prison for stealing money from a community fund.

Ben Mitchell was christened as a baby in '96. He looks about 19 or 20 now and has glasses.

actually she first appeared in 1991 played by another actress but was reintroduced in 1994 played by Barbara windsor
