This was a long time coming, and I'm so grateful that it finally happened. Arthur is slowly but surely taking the steps towards making the world a better place for others, and I am so so proud of him. We also got a kiss on the cheek!!!! And went fishing with a new friend!!!!
And Micah made me cry, which makes me angry. I can't believe I let the rat man make me cry 😡
Ugh. Love you guys ❤️

2:06:32 Javier's singing alone this time and no one's around him. Take me back to Clemen's Point or Shady Belle when the camp partied and sang their hearts out together. The general state of the camp and the interactions with the camp members is just so sad in Chapter 6. Pain, just pain

The instrumental that Javier was playing at 2:08:00 is the slow version of “Otis Miller”. He plays the fast version at Sean’s rescue party with Uncle, Lenny, and Sean singing.

Yes exactly, it is like a pale shadow of what once was. Bittersweet hollowness. And I think that is part of what makes RDR2 so great, because even back then in Shady Belle, before Arthur gets TB, before the failed bank heist, there is still that implicit recognition that you have deep down, that you *know* these great times can't last for the gang. You know that they are all on borrowed time and their way of life is quickly being snuffed from the world as it progresses forwarded, which makes those earlier, pleasant times in the game so much more impactful.

Fun fact of the day: “O’Creagh’s Run” (the lake that the veteran lives by) is actually named after the first voice actor that played uncle (Jonathan Regis Cray), and it was named in remembrance of him after his passing and the developers had to actually cast a second actor for the part.

They left the lines he recorded, which were the songs. So 9/10 times that you hear Uncle singing, its Mr Cray himself.

I like how no one tried to stop Arthur from kicking out Strauss, they knew he had to go. Some people defend Strauss cause he robs people "legally" and doesn't directly kill people compared to the rest of the gang. But it's as Dutch said, "I prefer robbing people with a gun than with a handshake, feels more honest." Plus the gang usually robs from rich folks/institutions that have more money than they know what to do with, not desperate families living in poverty who kill themselves to try to pay back the debt.

@@jacobsworld9253 Yes, I agree. Also really enjoying her stream-of-consciousness style, ongoing analysis of the unfolding events, character developments and dialogue in the game. Because most of it mirrors my own thoughts and feelings about the game as I played through. Most let's players / RU-vid gamers just record themselves without actually providing much in the way of interaction regarding their emotions, thoughts and feelings, other than maybe a brief intro and conclusion monologue. @@S0LAVELLANHELL tbh i dont think any Rdr2 let's play I've seen compares with this in terms of ongoing, on-point analysis, emotional investment in the game and the characters, and stream-of-consciousness style expression of thought about the events going on. Marz's is good, but she's what I call a more 'corporate' RU-vidr who remains a bit more distanced from the experience than Sarah does. I think the fact that Sarah is a smaller creator has lended itself really well to this series. It has meant she has legit just done her own thing, not worried about spending 2 hours of a video exploring (which is totally a must for this game), or going on 20 minute rambles about the characters or plot. Compare this with even slightly larger YTers who keep a bit more detached, have a more structured and regimented approach to their let's plays, because they have many more views and subs and so probably feel somewhat obliged to appease the majority. They just feel a lot less 'raw', if you get what I mean. But yeah, maybe watch Marz's playthrough if you havent already, and queen tofu also has quite a good one, although I find her persona and vibe can get a bit irritating at times. Sarah is really mellow whilst at the same time being really engaging, which seems to be rare combo. Most let's plays of Rdr2 I've seen are either super hyper people whose videos give me minor anxiety, or people who basically sit there with the camera on and barely saw a word other than in the intro and outro.

Congrats on 10k, Sara! I love those side quests in chapter VI. Trully beautiful. Still I kind of forgot how great the acting was in John J. Weathers' mission. The internal struggle of Arthur is absolutely fascinating to watch. It almost feels like he is more angry at himself for the doubts that raise in his mind rather than at difficulties of the job at hand. I mean Arthur surely projects his rage at Weathers but it doesn't really come from his unwillingness to pay the debt. Arthur is afraid that his increasing softness renders him unable to provide for his 'family'. As Strauss says his commitment to duty is admirable. But his true emotions prevail. Because let's not forget Strauss was probably a great source of income for the entire camp. Surely it wasn't moral but none of them really were. Bunch of outlaws romanticized by Duth's talk. The only difference being they didn't aim directly at desperate and vulnerable and didn't shy away from the dirty part of work as opposed to Strauss. Strauss on the other hand was probably more detached than evil. Throwing him out of camp is certainly an interesting matter. I don't think it comes from Arthur's aquired rightousness. I believe it is more of his old angry nature that comes to play here. Which again makes him more human rather than some sort of unmistakable moral compass and newly made role model. Great character. One of the greatest I know.

To be honest I never had an issue with Strauss, out of everyone of the camp he is the lesser of evils present. At least he never killed anyone while the rest of the gang left a mountain of corpses in their wake. Many of which being innocent lawmen just doing their jobs and good citizens just seeking to protect their fellow man. They for some reason view killing as more dignified somehow, I fail to see the logic there. Don't forget that Arthur was a willing participant and its not like Strauss wanted Arthur to contract tuberculosis.

But if its empty or it is red the outside bars wont regenerate. In order to quickly fill up the outside bars you actually need to take potions like snake oil or chew cocaine gum to fill up the outside of the cores quickly so you have something you can readily use even if your cores are low.

That silver dapple pinto is only available at the Blackwater stable but there is a glitch to get it after Albert Mason’s mission early as chapter 2. 3rd best horse in the game after BUELL and the Turkoman. And yes you can get the Turkoman early from the chapter 3 mission “Horse flesh for dinner” which is another coat only available at the Blackwater stable. Both horses are purchasable at the start of chapter 4 just different coats. The MFT is at the Dewberry Creek stable and the Turkoman is at the Saint Denis stable

Fishing tip: go to settings and you can actually change it to just holding the square button to reel. Also, when you need dead eye, eat big game meat for your core and then drink snake oil or use chewing tobacco and it’ll give you a gold ring around the dead eye core. Also, if you have Netflix, look up and watch the series called Longmire. It’s kind of similar to RDR except it’s in modern time, set in Wyoming and you will definitely fall in love with so many characters. I can’t recommend it enough. You will love it. And that message from Sean was great. “The joy is back in your life again.”

People always say negative things about Strauss. They blame him for Arthur's fate, some say he was as bad (if not worse) than Micah. But the thing is... He was just doing what he was "hired" for by the gang. And he was loyal to the end. Almost every member of the gang was a killer. But Strauss? He was simply doing his job. He was using gangs money to make a profit, so that was Dutch's idea from the start. Morally speaking, Its still better than robbing random people and killing +50 innocent souls in the process, right? ALSO, keep in mind all of those poor people knew EXACTLY what they were doing taking money from a gang of criminals... Even if they were desperate, they were all grown ups after all. They knew the consequences. Its not like Strauss was laying to those people. They knew they were dealing with a gang of killers. It wasn't a charity. And also you have to remember that real banks already existed at that point in time! So a lot of those people could take a loan from a bank, but they decided that they would have a better chance taking money from a bunch of criminals than a bank. They knew they probably won't be able to pay it back. You can't run away from a bank, but MAYBE you can run away from a bunch of low life criminals if you are lucky. They might end up in jail or dead after all. They took the gamble cause they didn't want to deal banks. I know they were desperate. But they still knew the risk. Same could be applied in todays world, right? Even if you are desperate and you REALLY need money, You HAVE to realize that if you take money from a gang / mafia, it probably won't end nicely if you won't pay it back on time. Thats why I felt sorry for Strauss. He truly had no idea why Arhur was mad. And he's treated worse than every other killer in the gang even tho statistically, he was responsible for less death than any other member of the gang. AND he probably helped a lot of people as well, we just don't see it in the game.

I think the worst part of Strauss' money lending is that it goes against the gang's code. Arthur tells Sadie, "we rob folks that rob other folks. These people are just trying to get by."

52:15 "why am i doing this?" because you have a heart of gold, i slaughtered those little piggies because they all had perfect pelts and i needed them for camp lol Emmet actually normally throws knives at you, but you started lighting him up so fast it canceled him drawing them and he just ran at you, i've never seen that happen lol during the quick draw you don't have to fill the meter, the more you fill it the more time you have while aiming but the longer you take to fill it the closer they get to drawing on you first. just balance filling the meter as much as you can while still drawing as soon as you can. you can initiate a quickdraw at any time, not just in duels, by lightly pressing in R2. And that pure look of joy when Arthur kicked Strauss out of the camp and again when Javier was playing music, that is why i come here, not to see you cry, just wanted to clarify that 😁

If u haven't heard or found it yet - there's a "secret" mission inside St. Denis. Another serial killer (I hope no one spoiled the twist before) You have to find 5 bloody writings on the walls, somewhere inside St.Denis. They will form a huge pentagram showing you the location of the next murder. If u don't know where to start: - I remember one of them was somewhere near the trapper - Another one was somewhere near a bar, on a wall in one of the main streets - Another one was near the train tracks, next to the shop near the docks

If you want to meet Mr White and Mr Black again, I don't think the game ever tells you unless you stumble across them. There's one last place you can encounter them and complete their side story. It's at a treehouse north of Strawberry, near a farm. Can't remember the exact name, sorry, but I'm sure it was North-West of some water.
@FlopsyHamster

I think you can find them if you follow the river that leads north along the western part of the map, near Hanging Dog Ranch. There's another encounter you can have up there, too.

I hate that fish. He's the hardest one in the game to land. When he fights you, he pulls out all the line that you reel in while he's resting. If you hold down the right stick and push to the side, you can prevent him from pulling out some of the line, but it's still a slog.

A second playthrough is the perfect time to try to 100% the game. Hunt for those perfect pelts. Upgrade all your satchels. Get those legendary animals and fish. Help that lady taxidermist by collecting animals. Complete all the ambient challenges. Collect orchids and plumes for Algernon Wasp, and get a cool reward that Arthur will hate and you will love. Encounter the UFO's, and listen for the ghosts in the Roanoke forest. You can kill an entire weekend without ever doing a single story missions.

Personally, when I played the game, I did Strauss's collection missions *before* helping Edith. In the scene with Mrs. Lundonderry, I gave her money, and I think it's one of the most important scenes in the entire game for Arthur's character development. It was when Arthur realized just exactly what he had done to the Downes' family, how much anguish and suffering and grief he caused them. The Lundonderry's are in almost the same situation as the Downes, and giving them money was Arthur making up to the Downes and choosing to do something different than what he did in the same situation previously. Don't see Arthur's TB as all doom and gloom, see it as a opportunity for Arthur to be a better man and make the world a better place. It's a gift, to know your time is coming.
@FlopsyHamster
@FlopsyHamster 3 года назад
During my first playthrough, I did both Edith Downes missions in Chapter 5. It's apparently possible for them to appear early. And then when I finally did the Dutch mission that has Arthur and Charles clearing out the Murfree caves, Arthur meet's Mrs. Downes taking a "customer" back to her cabin, making it look like she returned to street walking, and all of Arthur's efforts with her and her son were in vain. I hope they've patched the game so that can't happen anymore.
