@@elimsyldog4858 Maybe, but i'm not buying that argument, some game mechanics make every """realistic""" game have it upside down with realism but i dont see myself carrying out 99 of 4 types of alcohol in my bag like arthur and john do, rdr2 may be detailed, but that doesnt mean realistic, in one of the sidemissions of rdr2 you have to chase a tiny guy that can teleport around and pull animals out of his ass, so i'd say both games are unrealistic due to those "game mechanics", unless we can theorize about how a realistic rdr2/1 would look like, then make the it more "realistic" Edit:another thing to add is if we made this game realistic, the characters would've died a lot sooner, for example, where the army has arthur and dutch at gunpoint, they would've just killed them, another one is when milton asked the gang to surrender and they kicked out of the camp, what would've happended is the pinkertons and even the military showed up and massacred them, another one is when john gets captured, milton said he'd given them enough chances, so why didnt they just execute him there?, those characters plot armors add more unrealism to it

Finally someone understands the absolute demon named "John Marston" Arthur participated in multiple gang wars and duels, which are impressive because he survived all of them before dying to tuberculosis. But John's a different breed, dude actually canonically carried the Mexican Army, and won against a army.
Arthur still is just as good as john or even better than John he just wasn't given enough time to shine and wasn't in the same scenario as him to shine the same way

People saying Arthur don’t remember/don’t know just how much of a menace John was in rdr1 This is a man who pretty much singlehandedly won the Mexican revolution, has wiped out numerous gangs of outlaws by his lonesome as a bounty hunter, wiped out Bill Williamsons Gang to a man with some minor assistance Fucked up Dutches second gang as well Oh also for Javier, Bill and Dutch Ross sent John to deal with them. To deal with John he sent an entire fucking army to kill him (and uncle too ig) the sheer amount of lead it took to put this man down is wild
Arthur got beaten, tortured and mentally tortured in O Driscolls camp, got shot in the shoulder by a double barrelled shotgun at point blank range which could get rid of your arms still managed to escape the whole gang. Arthur took down most of the US Army, pinkertons and lawmen by himself, fought Micah just 5 minutes away from death and also gave Tommy a freakin brain damage, giving him permanent thinking impairment Still it took everything to take down Arthur. It took US Army, Pinkertons, Lawmen, Micah and Tuberculosis to took him down. Still, Micah was struggling to defeat Arthur, who is just in his deathbed. The beast is wild.
Arthur survives while getting mauled by a bear, saved John's ass like a million times, gave a guy twice his size brain damage, shot up Leviticus Cornwall's entire squadron in Valentine, shot up Strawberry just to save a rat, got shot multiple times by O'Driscolls and once in the shoulder by a nearby rifle, got captured by the O'Driscolls but self-cauterized himself and escaped, snapped someone's neck while escaping, shoots down most of the Pinkertons in the Saint Denis bank robbery (there was a lot), fends off a fort from a battleship, single-handedly destroyed the battleship with a canon, Arthur gets tuberculosis but that does not stop him from riding with the Natives and absolutely decimating the US ARMY, has outgunned gatling guns several times, has quickdraw killed most of the legendary gunslingers, managed to fight Micah despite having tb and would have actually won against Micah if it wasn't for Dutch's intervention
@@Why44400nah his character development was insane in that time span. He's more badass, a better father, a better person, a better draw and a better gunslinger overall
Both are extremely capable and powerful. I think it would be a close fight. But if I had to pick one, I think it would be a bit closer to John Marston, due to his superior gun skills. I think Arthur Morgan is strong in physical combat, but Marston has the upper hand in long-range weapon throwing skills. I think the winner would be hurt, but not dead. I think it would be the toughest battle they have ever fought. What do you think?

I think they’re equal on durability since Arthur was tortured and had to endure the symptoms of tuberculosis for a period of time. Meanwhile John gets shot twice and survives a wolf attack.
@@sekmineballe that's endurance not durability, durability is withstanding damage and surviving john didn't survive those 20 bullet wounds but he did endure it for some seconds and was still awake despite the shock and bloodloss

RDR1 John with very little help from Jack and Uncle at the end was able to fight off an army of agents and military personnel just so Abigail and Jack could escape, if John was not willing to die, he would’ve survived. Remember that scene from RDR2 at the end of chapter 3, Milton allowed the gang to escape before he arrives with an army of Pinkertons, the gang fled because they knew that 10+ active gang members couldn’t handle an army of Pinkertons. John at his prime basically did what the Van Der Linde gang couldn’t do. John wins this.

John is just too OP lol! He literally almost Solo'd an army of well over 50 Soldiers, Marshalls, and Federal Agents. He even was surrounded and was able to quickdraw and kill half a dozen people before he died, and the rest only started shooting AFTER he killed them. Literal Superhuman speed! Hell, had he thrown dynamite out thd barn door before charging out, he'd have probably survived. Most would have died from the blast, the rest would have been disoriented and easy pickings. He literally made the US Government look like a little bitch that could only win because he let them.

@@West_is_Jelqingya. Also epilogue gives all Arthur’s skills to John. So canon wise John in epilogue is end game Arthur skill wise. I think Arthur is a prodigy but John even more so. Remember them saying how Dutch viewed John as his golden boy because of how quick he learned. I don't think that counts because both of them are able to do the legendary gunslinger but it's up to us if we go playing us Arthur or John and it's exactly the same thing just different protagonist so yeah...but yeah Arthur is good at QuickDraws and same goes to John and both of them have proved it well enough, but I think QuickDraw On RDR1 John is way way faster than Arthur (but that's my opinion I like both protagonist and both of them are good on their own experience)
