The Artichoke Hold was created by Jeremy Oertel from Brooklyn (NY) cocktail bar, Donna. It's a riff on one of his other creations, the Bitter Mai Tai, which is also a riff on a classic Mai Tai. The funkiness of the Smith & Cross creates a solid base whilst the Cynar and Elderflower add an interesting bittersweet combination of flavours.

INGREDIENTS
- 22.5 ml Jamaican Rum preferably Smith & Cross (0.75 oz)
- 22.5 ml Cynar (0.75 oz)
- 15 ml Elderflower Liqueur preferably St Germain (0.5 oz)
- 22.5 ml Lime Juice (0.75 oz)
- 15 ml Orgeat (0.5 oz)
METHOD
1. Combine all the ingredients into your cocktail shaker
2. Shake with ice
3. Strain over crush ice into a double old fashioned glass
4. Garnish with a mint sprig
