Tim - I ended up on this particular video doing a search for info on Zoom Regions. Not sure how it landed here but... I want to tell you that is the best investment of my time I have made in a very long time - all thank to you of course. I don't know anything about your LinkedIn Learning work (yet) or your RU-vid channel (yet) but I can tell you, this video not only cracked up a nut of new creative ideas, but I can tell you will save me literally hours of production time. Not just one of the best Articulate tutorial videos I've seen, one of the better, or at least the most helpful, tutorials I've seen in recent memory. Thank you sir for your work.

@@elearningacdmy I was looking for a way to reach you offline so I'm sorry if this is not the place for this question but... :D There seems to be very little to no information on Zoom Regions. Specifically resizing them. Any help or advice you can give in that regard would be awesome. Your efforts are appreciated.
@elearningacdmy
@elearningacdmy Год назад
@@tonybittick6420 Yeah...Zoom regions are a little funky in SL. I can count on less than one hand how many times I've used them. In terms of resizing them, without knowing more about what you're trying to accomplish, I will say that they are fixed to the same aspect ratio as your slide...so you can only resize them according to the slide demsions you have set. Not sure if that makes sense here. If you'd like, feel free to post this question in my Ask the Community space here and I can provide a more detailed answer: community.elearningacademy.io/c/advice/
@tonybittick6420
@tonybittick6420 Год назад
Unfortunately, you seem to have nailed it with the aspect ratio. I had read something similar, but it wasn't a solid source in my mind. I understand your point of using this method and would love to hear any other suggestions. Basically, this is a mobile device tutorial for people who may have never used a smart phone or tablet. So in this case, as over kill as it seems, we're zooming in both on the text step, and then again on the visual example. I just don't want to know circles and arrows if possible. @@elearningacdmy

This has been the best Storyline video I have watched yet! I don't know how I never knew about "Format Painter" after using Microsoft products since a young teen, but that has changed my life. Oh, how I wish I'd discovered this about 3 months ago. lol Thank you so much! If you have a video on this, ignore my question, I'm sure I'll find it eventually. But when you were discussing slide transitions on layers, I was wondering if you can "batch" edit all/some/most of your slides (not layers) to have the same transition instead of going onto each slide itself. Again, fabulous tips and tricks. I only knew a couple of them, so this was just incredible. You also deliver information clearly and succinctly. Love it.
@elearningacdmy
@elearningacdmy 2 года назад
Glad you liked it! Yes you can do that...when you're on the Transitions tab, there's an option to "Apply to All." That should take care of it for you. Hope that helps! :)

A couple of questions: 1) Which version of Parallels and which Mac do you use? My set up is very slow on my MacBook Air M1. 2) If you replace a picture, how can you get it to match the size? 3) Is there anyway to drag a box around multiple objects to select them all? Thanks so much!
@elearningacdmy
@elearningacdmy 2 года назад
Hey Jennifer! I'm currently using the most current version of Parallels, on a maxed-out Intel-based Mac. If you haven't done so already, I would suggest checking out this article from Articulate to make sure your settings are right: articulate.com/support/article/using-articulate-software-on-a-mac-with-parallels-desktop I would also suggest looking to see if you need to dedicate more memory to your Windows side. Here's an article on how to do that: kb.parallels.com/en/112091 I hope that helps!

This is one of the best Storyline training videos that I have seen. One topic I am trying to find more information is on interactions when using publish to video. I have not found anything that can assist me when setting up user based interactions for materials that will eventually be published in “video”output. Is this possible?
@elearningacdmy
@elearningacdmy 6 месяцев назад
Thanks for watching! I’m glad you found it helpful! To answer your question, it’s not possible to publish to video and allow for user interactivity. It’s just a regular ole’ video that gets spit out. I hope that helps!
@grantsmall_Ngenious
@grantsmall_Ngenious 6 месяцев назад
@@elearningacdmy Hi Tim, can you publish as a video and develop interactions on top of the video?
@elearningacdmy
@elearningacdmy 6 месяцев назад
@@grantsmall_Ngenious Yes...but you'd have to bring the video and build the interactions in Storyline or another interactive eLearning authoring tool. And, in that case, while the video would be embedded in the eLearning course, in order for the interactivity to function, you'd have to publish it out as an HTML file...in other words, it would no longer be a simple video file.
