The purpose of an elevating leg rest is to provide calf support to a patient who needs to either maintain fixed or elevated his or her leg. Legrests are commonly used in patients who have immobilized legs due to casts or who have particular circulation, inflammation or edema problems.
Legrests are designed with a lever on the side to activate drop and to elevate in different positions.
