ok I used to be a big Stern fan 1990-2010..Let's correct a few things..First #1 movie is not accurate- it only made $46 million after 2 years of free promotion from Howard on the air..It was a good movie..The 1994 PPV was the biggest waste of $50 ever ,it was a horrible show..I enjoyed both his books..And the soundtrack to his movie,he had nothing to do with any production or writing of anything on it...his job was to promote it..why didn't you bring up "Son of a beach" on FX that was horrible ,and Howard Tv that he was forced to cancel in 2013 due to low subs..And what about "50 ways to rank your mother?'..
Man... the Stern Show really harnessed his true talents; he's an average stand-up, but quite literally the best improvisational one-liner guy and comedic story-teller I've ever heard. Sadly, he's back to his old ways now. I'd be surprised if he makes it to 55. He's as big a mess these days as he was back then, and it is sad to see. He brought be a lot of great laughs for more than a decade.
Matthew Smyth totally agree. i've heard people say 'the audio quality is poor' and stupid stuff like that. it's from his kitchen and it's one of the most entertaining things on the planet. i don't mind that it's not in a studio.
the audio is just like any other show..the people who say that are the ones to cheap to pay $6.95 a month..Yes he does repeat some jokes but hes funny as hell and a master story teller.
I can tell all the people who bad mouthed him here has never listened to howard stern show because artie lange is super likeable and funny! Also - He won 42k at a casino the other weekend and just started handing out 100 dollar bills just because he's that kind of super generous guy.
Artie's wearing the exact same outfit on Feb 2008 and June 2008 appearances -- right down to the same maroon-purple shirt with the white stripe at the collar. Only difference is the beard and 15-20 pounds.
These were not talk shows like Johnny Carson or Merv Griffin talk shows where it was impromptu. These shows are rehearsed, preplanned and agreed to BEFORE the show starts. Arties' people talked to David's people and it was decided what they would 'discuss' this way Artie (or whoever) could be equipped with stories and jokes. This gives the sleeping audience the illusions two people are just chatting when in fact it's a performer performing while sitting down.
listen to the nick and artie show! he's hilarious on that as well. and you get him mixing it up with nick dipaolo so it's just hilariousness all over the place
It’s sad. He was so talented and as these interviews from 2003 to present he got fatter and looked more homeless. I’m glad he’s kinda doing better now.
I hate that Dave cut him off even though he was about to do a wrap up joke. I get he probably had people in his ear telling him to, but recognise where we’re at in the story and make a judgement call.
It doesn't matter where you're from he seems like he could be one of your buddies telling a story that could have happened to you or one of your friends. Hope he's doing well.
