they worked from 6-10 AM. in Artie's mind , it was inconceivable for him to deny himself buttered bagels, cookies, chicken parm subs and 3 jumbo Cokes during that time. he wouldn't even entertain the idea of not stuffing his face with slop for 3 hours. I never even heard him mention zero calorie Coke, which tastes almost identical and would save him 1,200 calories a day. And the throw-away line about garlic knots was funny. only "medigon's" eat garlic knots. this is a guy named Lange who makes being Italian his whole personality lol
I always liked Ralph on the main show and the other shows on which he appeared. My hardware died so didn't have Sirius but the show seemed to keep Ralph's illness under wraps. Feel bad that his mother probably outlived him. Kept Ben Stern death hidden briefly but someone over 90 no big surprise.
54:30 .. it's funny how the whole wedding conversation takes a side track into Artie being ambushed with a pig trough to "help" him lose weight... Things like this is the precursor to the "bro" fight where Howard tried to be a "friend".. and the "get the fat guy laid" segment. Howard was always demeaning and degrading to people with weight issues. Artie, Jason, Gary, Benjy, Anna Nicole Smith... And then someone like Tim goes to the gym and Howard belittles it and says "why bother?" He even had a secret scale built in to the set to goof on people. It's clear that he despises fat people.. enjoys degrading them and then tries to use the excuse of "I know how it is.. cause I used to be fat" Howard was never fat.. he's 6 ft five and weighs 190 pounds. He's a bean pole.. .. guys like us don't get "fat" in the true sense of the word. I know this because I'm 6 ft, 170 pounds, at 40 yrs old. I've always been thin and slender, with little to no effort. When we gain weight, we gain a little bit in our midsection... But our body type is just not built to be large and obese like some people's body type. He's just a fat shamer.. and he always took every opportunity to demean and degrade Artie over his weight. Which is why he had the pig trough bit on standby so he could crowbar it in the next time Artie's weight came up. Then when Artie isn't playing into the bit.. he has to throw another dig at him like "throw 2 kilos of heroin in there, then he'll want it" The truth is, Howard is just an abusive person.. which is why he put these types of people around him so he could abuse and manipulate them for his amusement. With that said... He's wildly entertaining and I've consumed thousands of hours of his content for many years... I guess like Artie said.. he's a great radio entertainer, he's just not a very good friend.
it's bits like this where I really can't stand Robin. Not of what she says, but what's with all that YELLING...? She can't seem to talk normally, she has to yell over everyone and then laugh like a wicked witch at her own bad jokes.

So funny how Jessica could not get a word in. Never realized how annoying she was. But, When Ralph shushed her, he could have been more polite. Jessica must have thought Howard was going to be with her. So delusional.
Sal is actually very funny… I used to hate him but over the years he really developed into a really great roaster and some of his phony phone calls are just hysterical
