ARTIFACT COMBO - Toggo & Silas Renn 🛠 Commander Deck Tech & Tune-Up 🛠 Episode 32 

Thanks for the tune-up! I still have yet to buy those battlebond lands (waiting for my stimulus check still), but some of the changes noted have already made a noticeable difference in the deck's performance even after only 1 game night. Replacing Jhoira/Mirrodin Besieged with Saheeli/Foundry Inspector has netted me enough extra tokens to really make some impact with Ghirapur Aether Grid, and the fact that my group lacks a really easy way to deal with Planeswalkers has helped there. (Though I can't convince myself to cut Sai, I'll keep him for the fun of it) Spire of Industry is also a card I'm slapping myself for not putting in sooner, I just hadn't heard of it before. Before the tune-up I had considered scrapping Toggo/Silas and just building a Breya deck, but now I'm comfortable with their power level, even if they're not an optimal pair. I look forward to making many more rocks in the future!

Some great thoughts here, thanks Chris. I’m building a Thada Adel, Acquisitor artifact deck and I’m going to make sure I’ve got a critical density of artifacts and not too many artifact support cards.

I play this deck too. Couple suggestions I have are burnished hart because while it is 6 mana for 2 lands, it is recastable with Silas. Next I reccomend contraband kingpin. He is a UB 1/4 creature with lifeline who has an ability that says when an artifact etb’s scry 1. S crying is underrated especially with the number of etbs you get from toggo alone. Ugin the ineffable can make your mana rocks free, gives you card draw and removal. Lastly check out varragoth, bloodsky sire. He is a multi use vamp tutor and since he has deathtouch he synergizes well with rocks. I don’t know if this was covered enough but any creature with deathtouch turns a rock into a removal spell. The wording on the rock says that the creature deals damage to a target so if varragoth, baleful strix or Silas renn tap and sac a rock you can kill a creature.

This is a fun one - making me want to brew a partner deck!!

The deck reminds me a lot of my own Akiri/Silas which I considered/am still considering shifting to Toggo/Silas. I think Wishclaw Talisman is a great tutor, especially in artifact decks that can sacrifice it at instant speed (though often you only need that one activation and don’t care about losing the artifact). The og Tezzeret is great. It tutors, it untaps our stuff, it can even serve as a plan c wincon. I also really like the og Saheeli. Many overlook her as a part of CopyCat combo, but she does so much more. She can clone our creatures and artifacts for a turn, and gives them haste. In my list that often means cloning Arcum Daggson or Goblin Welder/Engineer. Grixis artifacts 💙🖤❤️
