Artificer Xy'mox, but again! Normal and Artificer Xy'mox Heroic guide! Artificer Xy'mox is a raid boss in the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid of Shadowlands. He was also in Nathria, and former Castle Nathria raiders may remember some of Xy'mox's familiar moves. In Sepulcher of the First Ones, he's still messing with relics and stasis traps but this time he gets an add phase.
This Artificer Xy'mox boss guide will show you the Artificer Xy'mox abilities that you'll see in the Normal, Heroic and LFR versions of the Artificer Xy'mox fight. Mythic Artificer Xy'mox has additional mechanics not shown in this Normal and Heroic Artificer Xy'mox guide. Footage of Artificer Xy'mox for this boss guide is from PTR raid testing and some mechanics may look different or change when the Sepulcher of the First Ones raid releases on live servers starting March 1st.
The key to Artificer Xy'mox is using the portals to evade the Genesis Rings, and saving damage to end the add phases quickly. On top of that, watch your feet and you should be just fine. Tanks will get marked with Glyph of Relocation and need to use both portals and their own mobility to get it far from the raid before it explodes. It'll grip the entire raid to the tank's position right after the explosion, so they should aim to be on the safe side of the Genesis Ring whenever possible. During PTR testing of Artificer Xy'mox, the Relocation mechanic exclusively happened on top of the ring which caused most of our wipes. The timing and overlap could be changed when Artificer Xy'mox goes live with the Sepulcher of the First Ones release.
