I remember making the end art for this, and putting YOUR name on the top! I guess things really changed, and I find it really cool that levels have such a complex background ;) Anyway also manix stole some stuff I made to make his old part lol who cares, and I may still have an old copy of it in my ipad, ill take a look (VERY UNLIKELY) Great video btw, can’t wait for CC to come out I guess
now we’re in 2.1 it sounds like your original vision could definitely be done i wonder if this video will inspire anyone to take that original approach and make your original vision come to life
AA is one of my favorite levels and I have so much nostalgia as it was my hardest accomplishment in the game for a while. Thank you for making something so cool and neat
8:55 Lololol that looks like a habit for Zobros since he left a half-finished part for a 100-people finnish megacollab Siniristi also. The team got somebody else to decorate entirely his part, but we were still lucky to have a gameplay made by Zobros
That robotic, dark, and abandoned theme seems pretty interesting to me because it feels like a quite unique theme, and if you didn't lose your saved data, this would've been one of my favorite extreme demons
ive just heard about this level's origin. I've been for a long ass time and I had no idea. the fact we still dont know the original song is crazy. and the fact that you only have 1 image of your original part makes this all far more interesting. its truly a shame it never got to see the light of day in its original form.
Despite everything that happened I think artificial ascent turned out to be a really good and cool level. Even though you lost the original song, I love the new one, I think it works perfectly. You and everyone else in the megacollab have done a really good job on it.
5:10 heyyyy that's me Also, amazing concept you had there! I do wonder how the community would be today in terms of new extreme demons, hadn't Artificial Ascent been released the way it is today. Good video :)
I honestly would have loved to see the level with the old theming, as AA has somewhat inconsistent deco in my opinion. I think it would be cool if you actually made the level now based on everything it was supposed to be in the beginning.
So basically if Viprin never picked up AA he wouldn't be popular and not known as he is today. Also AA wouldn't be out which results in most of Viprins levels wouldn't be out as he would have most likely left the game, which would have changed GD in a complete different way
8:45 yo its me, but for real this video was sick and i had no clue it spawned from another level idea! i think you should revisit that idea because it definitely sounds like a banger of a level
Could the original song possibly be the original song that Mr jazz man remixed, hell yes by sakupen? You've probably already thought of the idea but I figured it was worth mentioning. Edit: www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/362159 is a remix of the same song due to sakupen holding a remix contest and mentions the BPM in the description and was also the contest winner. So probably more likely, idk why I searched for it considering I have 0 info and I probably got it wrong but I thought I may as well comment it.
We as a community should make a megacollab that follows the same gameplay as Cataclysm and is mainly blue and has a factory coming to life. We actually need to make this.
Anubis bro since artificial ascent didn’t turn out how you wanted it, since your a better creator now and plus people are capable of building themed parts, you should try and make the blue factory thingy. It would look awesome!
This video was worth watching and had taught me quite a things. This is an amazing history of a legendary level which was in work for a really long time. You did an amazing job on this level even if it was disappointing for you but still it made a history and something which will never be forgotten in out community! So Thank you Anubis!
I know it's a longshot but if you want to try and find the original song for AA I'd suggest looking through some songs by XsToRmEr1. Most of songs are used very little (possibly none) in GD, and some of them sound a little similar to Iron God Sakupen Hell Yes RMX (not that much, but maybe worth a shot). The specific song I found that I think would've fit the theme you were going for and sounds a bit similar to the song you mentioned was called "The Underground" but I'd suggest looking through others too.
