Artificial insemination of a Budgerigar 

This is the second video in the series on artificial insemination of a Budgerigar Melopsittacus undulatus. In this video, master Budgerigar breeder inflates the vent area and then deposits the freshly collected semen. If the donor male is of exceptional quality and the receiving female is paired to a poor quality male, you can temporarily cause infertility in the lesser quality male by giving it ivermectin. This reduces the probability of the eggs the female will lay will be fertilized by the inferior male.
