I have nothing but contempt for this "AI" garbage. No one asked for it or wants it on their systems, but tech bro types insist on shoehorning it into everything. It's obnoxious.
They want to spy on us through the AI, that's the main purpose of big tech. The functionality of it, seems ridiculous to me, it fails to achieve something really useful.
I used to like calamares, then I had the misfortune to talk to Adriaan de Groot 😅 Still a very user-friendly and relatively idiot-proof installer though. I hope the cosmic branding is just an indication that they spent no time and effort on branding because they are too busy with the actual desktop environment. Not that it really matters to me, as it's wayland-only, rust-written worse-gnome... Deepin AI? Are we sure it isn't just a whole bunch of chicom slave workers? I guess it does say it runs offline ... but how do we know haven't just been hiding little G5 transcievers inside all chicom made computers that will activate whenever you launch the Deepin AI?
If you actually read the EULA it's about Deepin's cloud (much like OneDrive, Google Drive and iCloud) services. And since it's only available in main land Chy-na I don't think there is anything to be to concerned about at this time.
In theory, it should make resizing partitions easier, even if they are encrypted. In my (somewhat limited) experience with it, however, that doesn't hold true in practice.
