Personally, I dont think he ever did stop caring, he loves his job and cares about warcraft and diablo very much. if he didnt, he would be slacking off and not doing too much, however, he is very active and i think he cares about it still ;)
Blizzard games have work for long time, but the players, want something new.. This art looks awesome if you are like 5 years old and like pokemon... I grow up with blizzard games, the art style have not change so much about this 21 years... The only who change, is the cinema movies, they are very brilliant!!!.. I like Blizzard games alot, and you have the money, why not make something new??? not same art style all time?? maybe something gotic, like D1/D2 have? =))
Ok that blizzard have own style, but soon you need better grafic on the games.. If release World of warcraft 2 that need to be Realstic grafic comparing with old ones.. In 5 years, if dont have change it, you games, will be a joke...
Oversized pauldrons and cartoonish textures are fine up until about the mid 2000's...it most assuredly did not work for Diablo 3, and even with more content than Diablo 2 (when it gets there), the game will be lackluster due to this fact... Its getting to the point where players are not being conned by commercials demonstrating only CGI cutscenes and zero gameplay...please, stop doing this. It just proves how ignorant the industry is becoming...graphics dont matter for every game, but some..yes
