I think my favorite is 'Apollo and Daphne'. What an amazing work! You can almost see Daphne's transformation as it occurs. And, I can see why his 'Ecstasy of St. Teresa' caused a stir - when I saw it, my first impression was of its sensuality. (And you're more than welcome. :) I'm always pleased when I see one of your videos posted.)
I think mine is the Abduction of Persephone, despite its awful story. Just seeing the way that Hades fingers press into her flesh but it's actually marble! A close second is St. Teresa....because who doesn't love a good controversy! lol. I enjoy our discussions on each video!
@@AccessibleArtHistory So do I. :) And, you're right about 'The Abduction of Persephone' - it's amazing what some people can do with stonework - to make marble look so much like human flesh... wow.
Narrators who rush through their "readings" can really ruin the experience of watching these ....Waldeman's speaking as he takes the viewer on a walk through the sculptures of Bernini as well as some of his archectual examples is extremely well done. WALDEMAN.

I wonder if anyone ever told Bernini that they didn't care whether his Baldacchino was a piece of sculpture, or of archecture. seems ugly as either .
