I was going to get a 12v tv/dvd for camping in my van.I've had a couple of these small projectors that we're more expensive than this and both didn't last 6 months.I decided to buy this instead of the tv and have to say the picture quality is outstanding.Lets hope it ladts longer than the other 2.

I am looking for a projector (as small as possible) to display PowerPoint presentations as clearly as possible. Audio and video are not considerations. I just need the PowerPoint slides which will be all text to be readable in an area that would be well fairly well lit (like a classroom). Any suggestions?

Hi Richard, Very sorry about the late reply - your comment for some reason went under spam and Ive only just seen it. In regards to your question, the main problem would be that the projector is being used in a well lit environment which can pretty much make images unreadable - depending on how bright the area is of course. Im currently reviewing another Artlii projector, (review out either Monday or Tuesday) its not as small as this but is very bright and although not HD - text and pictures come thorugh very nicely!. Its the Artlii Enjoy and is available on amazon if you fancy a look see. Apologies again for the delay in my reply! Im hoping you have got it sorted however!

Hi there, is all most the same as the Elephas mini one. Which would you buy ,they are similarly priced but the Elephas has 100 ANSI instead of 50 ANSI . what should l go for. ?

1 big question in have. Cause I bought a beamer before that plays 3D. But only thru USB Files or PC Files. Not thru 3D DVD Players or PS4 or such. Would this play actual 3D DVD films thru PS4 and such? That would be a big help. Thanks in advance.

I have the Artlii Q mini. Images are pixelated with no hard edges and it won't display an image higher that 1200 pixels across. If image is larger it tells me file is unsupported. It looks like a mesh screen. Any advice? Cheers

Hi there, sorry about the late reply! So although I didnt get a chance to try it, apparently it does connect to Bluetooth speakers! Someone has asked that question on amazon.co.uk with the answer being yes it can!

Hello, would this buffer if wifi internet is not strong enough? Also, can it work with mobile data?

Wolf Hi there, yes if you were trying to watch HD videos for example then poor WiFi could effect the video and make it buffer. Lower quality videos may work ok but you would probs only want to watch HD for the best enjoyment. As for mobile data, no I don’t think it works. I no longer have this projector anymore so can’t confirm but don’t think it would. Sorry o couldn’t be more positive. Don’t forget you could always buy a WiFi booster if you have a poor WiFi signal! 👌

Wolf It is but you would need an adaptor. If you have an IOS (Apple) device then you can buy a Lightning to HDMI adaptor. It’s not cheap though coming in at around £50 here in the UK. Just make sure it’s an official Apple one if you do get one. For android phones then you need an MHL adaptor which can be found quite cheap on places like eBay. Either USBc to HDMI or Micro USB to HDMI depending on the phone. Just to confirm however you can’t cast/stream pay per view apps like Netflix, Sky Sports etc from your phone which is a tad annoying which is why I just went for an amazon fire stick in the end. Hope that all makes sense!

Hi Adrian, thanks for commenting and subscribing. As for smart features ...Unfortunately not, this device can mirror your phone (depending on model of phone and what you intend to mirror) but that’s about it. For film/tv/etc it would need to have a device plugged into it. (HDD, Amazon Fire stick, Google chromecast etc!)

Hey there, apologies about the epic late reply! Unfortunately I haven’t got this anymore (long story) but I don’t think it had a zoom function on this particular model. I have got a lot of projector reviews coming up throughout September so I’ll check them if that’s any help? I’m about to release (hopefully tomorrow) another Artlii Projector review but it’s not a portable one. It does however have the zoom feature which you can have from 25% - 100% and I do demonstrate it in the video. I’ll keep you posted! 👌

To be honest it’s a tough one. In terms of picture and sound quality the Apeman wins. Only marginally but I personally prefer it. The downside the Apeman only has HDMI connectivity. The Artlii however can connect USB and HDMI, plus you can cast/mirror your phone to it as well. It also has a user interface to manually adjust settings (the apeman is literally just a plug in a play with no interface at all) and if needed the Artlii lets you watch 3D films on it too. (With additional 3D glasses.) So basically if you are just going to plug in an amazon fire stick/laptop etc via HDMI and watch Netflix etc - then go for the apeman. If you want the additional connection options then go for the Artlii. Hope that makes sense! Any further questions just ask! Apologies for the late reply! 👌

The one in this review is of mp4 format, so you might want to change it to mp4.

You should be able to cast perfectly fine however whenever I cast my Iphone to any other device - it wont allow Netflix to play. Tried it with an android phone and it works fine, just not with Apple for some reason. :-(

The brightness is fairly bright but probs works best in very low light/dark conditions. Sorry I couldnt be more precise. Epic stuff! Just to let you know the discount code does have an expiry date. (Not sure about the UK one but the US one is 22/6/19) The projector is very good for the price though, only thing I should mention is the sound isn’t the loudest - so for example to watch films I always had it on maximum. But this was fine and didn’t cause any issues. Still highly recommend this projector!

Hi Vanessa, sorry to hear you are having trouble, it should play most file formats including MP4 and .MOV so not why this is happening. I doubt the file size would be a problem to be honest either. Can I ask how are you playing the files, is it via USB? One possible thing could be if the USB storage is too large. I know some gadgets and gizmos can only handle 32gb memory cards/usb sticks for example. Another problem could be if you have downloaded the files from apple. (As in purchased the film from ITunes and downloaded it) Apple won’t allow their films to be copied over to another device (like a usb memory stick) and then played on something else. This is just possibilities of course. Let me know how you are getting on!

@@mcphoney Hi there, thanks for the reply. Its getting a bit clearer now, I'm still struggling a bit with film sizes, these are my own films made in FCP, saved as H264 or mp4. I managed to make the projector loop a single film which is great, that's what I need as its for an exhibition, but there is a small 'loading' clock sign each time it loops, the film is very short, but I guess there's no way to get round that. Hopefully it'll all work out. I am excited by the Artlii though because it can use a battery pack, so perfect for off grid exhibitions. Thanks

No probs Vanessa, glad you got it (mostly) sorted. I think the loading symbol is on a lot of projectors and if that’s not there then it’s just a black screen for a few seconds. Either way on most projectors I think there would be a small delay before the video starts again. But as long as you have your video and at least it is looping! :-) Really hope your exposition goes well though 🤞 and if you ever upload you videos online please let me know - I’m always happy watching other people’s works of art!

Hmm..I didn’t encounter that problem myself however I know how frustrating it can be. Is the flash drive USB 2 or 3? I can’t remember what port is on the Artlii Projector but double check to see if that’s the issue. Also does the flash drive require power? If so does it need an additional power source? Finally, if you plug it into a PC or laptop, does windows state that the flash drive needs repairing? If so repair it and then try it again. Sorry I couldn’t be more precise but let me know how you get on! 👌 Hopefully you can get it sorted ASAP!

@@mcphoney when I connect it to my Mac it works fine, its pretty old so maybe 2.0 and I used another one to work but some video files work and others dont. it creates duplicates which is okay. if you know how to fix this

@@oj5826 How strange, but if another flash or usb drive works with the projector (is that correct?) then at least we know it’s not a fault with the projector itself. It could just be a compatibility issue maybe? As for some files work and some don’t I presume that would be a codec or file issue. Most of not all my video files are mp4. Is that what yours are?

Many ways to be honest. 👌 Either of the following: Amazon fire stick Google Cast Android Box Or you can use a phone. To connect an iPhone you will need an official Apple lightning to HDMI adaptor though. For an android phone you will need an MHL adaptor. If you have an android phone and an amazon fire stick then you can mirror/cast your phone to the projector via the amazon fire stick. Unfortunately you cannot do that with an iPhone though! Hope it helps! (All these methods require a WiFi connection just to confirm)! 👌

Been trying to figure this projector out for the last two nights... USB does not seem to connect, nor does the iOS Cast (screen mirroring) it does mirror but won’t play anything just loads and loads until it cancels out... :’(

@@mcphoney I bought a Yaufey mini projector with 4 corner keystone manual correction. A dreadful projector if one wants to project films (battery doesn't last, takes forever to charge, picture is grainy and the sound is almost non existent so it requires speakers but once you connect them then you lose synchronisation and you also get the loading sign interrupting) but good for my art purpose. I have settled that the projector that would be small sized and do it all would have cost me 500 quid or more. The market is flooded with expensive crap... I should clarify though that I live in an area with very slow broadband so my experience will not necessarily be the experience of someone with fast internet. And the one I got is wifi, connects easily to my laptop/mobile and has a hard protective case that carries it all.

Well it was sent to me to give an honest review, thats not bad is it? Thought the projector was pretty cool to be honest. A lot of the stuff on my channel however has been bought by myself or provided as a birthday/christmas gift! Either way hope the video helped!

Ha ha, I really should have chosen a different name shouldnt I? Its meant to be pronounced Mcphoney but because of the way I spelt it on my channel (all them years ago) it now reads like you stated MC phoney. Defo shame on me there!
