Wear gloves and Eye protection. Place your art on the floor, on a dropcloth for best result of levelness. You can prop it on risers also, like yogurt cups, or coffee cans filled with rocks or sand. Tape edges of canvas to protect, or it may spill on the sides. You can also not cover sides, and use your glove to paint the sides in resin lightly. Pour Part A + B together in equal parts, mix in a cup thoroughly for 3-4 minutes, pour and spread it on the artwork, from center outward with scraper, which needs to be level or the resin won't be even. Try to push it just to the edge, so its not dripping off, but just suspended there. Wipe off if it goes over the side. Use a flame torch to pop bubbles if desired, like a torch from 12" away. You have 30 minutes until it hardens. Let it cure at least 24 hours, Covered in cardboard tents, so no dust gets on, and your good to go.

Hey, did you treat your canvas print before applying the art resin? I've had a problem with canvas prints getting all crackled looking with other gel coats. I've tried Golden and an industrial brand. From chemical reaction? Or drying? Not sure. Is ArtResin safe for certain types of canvas prints and are the surfaces treated before using art resin?

Hi I just watched your video, your photos are amazing and the demonstration was easy to follow. I have watched a number of videos recently and some presenters have stated that resin yellows over time. I'm hoping this isn't always true. Do you know how art resin performs in the long term. Is there any yellowing?

Can you mix somehow lighter so you can spray to apply it.I just wonder if I can use on my oil pastel , I hate all the little pieces falling off.
@KoCoJellie
@KoCoJellie 6 лет назад
art resin can't be diluted to a spray form, however you can brush the resin onto your finished art piece. Be mindful that the art resin is too thick to work with after 30-45min; must brush on quickly

Nice photos! The resin really makes for a beautiful finish. I can't quite tell in the video, and maybe you mentioned it and I missed it, but did you let the resin naturally drip over the edges or did you brush around the edges or did you tape off the edges and remove the tape leaving the edges sans resin? Hardened resin drippings are an issue for me and I'm just looking for ways to minimize the after-mess. Thanks for sharing, your photos are top notch!

I'm about to try this but my plan is to do that first layer and then to do a very thick layer on top of it. But I can't decide if I should just do the a big layer all at once. If it was just wood you would do a small layer and then a big one and then a small one . Random but have you been to The Narrows in Utah? It's one of the most interesting hikes I've ever been on and they can go pretty much as long as you want it to go because it never ends. A lot of it is walking through water, but the like the colors of the walls are gorgeous. And the way the light breaks through the ravine like way above you and it just like it gives you sight after sight after sight and never ends
@DraMaurenNavarro
@DraMaurenNavarro 6 месяцев назад

You can either tape the edges to prevent it from spilling over or you can just let it drip over but wipe it off with your finger over and over until it's not dripping anymore.

I paint with acrylics and sometimes use Oils. Will my stuff come out looking glossy and reflective like this too with art resin after I spray clear gloss finish on it?
@that_garden_gnome
@that_garden_gnome 5 лет назад
it works better to spray sealant on first, then resin coat. Be aware as well that some whites ( particularly Titanium white ) can react and yellow once exposed to ArtResin so if your piece has a lot of white in it, you may want to seal first anyway. unless you're sanding the resin coat, it will be glossy when cured: ArtResin epoxy resin is formulated to be glossy, however it can be sanded down with fine grit sandpaper and then a matte medium can be applied overtop.
