This video will be about creating a magic system fpr Raja but first of all I have to thank @Worldbuilding Notes for inspiring me to do this channel almost more than a year ago. Together with the last video with reached a huge milestone: 1.000 subscribers. Thank you to all you worldbuilding maniacs for watching and listening to my ideas and stories!
In this worldbuilding video we will talk about the how i created the magic system named Arts of Kinetics. I split the video in two parts, because of the videos duration, which is already pretty long.

Wow, I just found this channel today and subscribed half-way through the first video I watched. Very good. Also, if that's you that's drawing, REALLY very excellent, especially in the earlier ones. I know I, for one, would love a video or two about how exactly you personally approach different worldbuilding tasks, because whatever your approach is, it's clearly very good if this is what you produce. I have my own unique style of worldbuilding, and don't really know of any others except for the very basic "rip people off" one that most people use, so would find it very interesting to see how others (espeially those who are very good at it, like you) approach it.

Wow! What a comment: Thank you a lot!! Let me know your thoughts on the other videos as well :) The art isn't done by me, artists are always credited in the video descriptions. I will try to answer your question in the Q&A video but I am also "ripping people off" as well as real-life from earth and mix it and adapt it all together to fit the setting I want. But I can try to explain my process, yet I have to find out if I really have a systematic approach behind that. :-D If you need help with anything tho just message me on discord ^^

Cool magic system, tho i have a question, you cant move a person with kineticks however can you move them if you use kinetic on something else like for example a hand and then use that to move the person? If that its posible then are there limits like moving a person by their clothes?

I'm writing a story which is centered on magic weapons and items, people can't use magic they don't have mana or something so they use magic weapons but i can't find anything about it in YT for references. Any thoughts about it?

Mhm. I can only think of Shardblades from Stormlight Archives, yet they are kinda connected with a mana like source as well. Maybe you can join the discord and ask some of the others? There are some well-versed fantasy and worldbuilding people there.

Great stuff. I would be all for documentary lenght videos and like these kind of magic systems. Although I have to say I think some of the specific limits yous stated seem overly rigid to me. Like a Kinetic being able to move up to ~3 times his/her weight. Wouldn't a Kinetic who has significantly strenghtened their weltengeist, maybe through slightly nefarious means, have more capacity to move heavier objects? Also you refer to focus a lot, which makes sense, but what about manipulating multiple objects at once? It should be possible, right? I mean kinetic healers "push" sickness out of a body and sickness is just a lot of small things being perceived as one. Therefore shouldn't the same be possible on a macroscopic scale? And how important is such a "perception as one" could a trained kinetic be able to focus on controlling i.e. two crystal blades at once? Also what about flying? Could a kinetic fly by lifting themselves up? if not, what about lifting stuff they wear or stand on. The latter maybe in the likeness of a flying carpet?

Sure, these are guidelines to give a sense of power level. There are exceptions to these. Yes, you can control manipulate multiple. This is the Pillar of Dexterity. Macroscopic scale is limited by size and weight. Sure, coming down to dexterity "controlling" two planets would be possible because it's easy to visualize two objects, but two large objects like this with the weight etc. is nothing that a human is capable of (normally). Yes, there are probably extraordinary Kinetics who have more control over themselves and their weapons and can handle more complex or multiple weapons. Yes, flying is possible to a certain degree. If you look the video you can see the Avari floating. Most of them use "kinetical jumps" for a surprise attack. Yet as always there are exceptions. For flying you'd need a very huge understanding of kinetics as well as mixing inner kinetics and outer kinetics to maximum level.

@@weltengeist I see, interesting stuff. good on you for making flying really rare. It was included in my magic system and upon further inspection turned out to be a bit more common(although still rare) than I originally anticipated. Leading to a lot of stuff that works differently than in our world which I had to design and keep in mind while designing other things. Exploration, Warfare, Reconaissance, fast Messaging all that stuff. But in the end I am stilly happy with my magic system:)

@@weltengeist I think it is fine to some extent. It just doesn't make sense to not have it with my magic system, but I also personally really like the idea of flying (^_^)' And hey, for the people in the world it is nothing too unusual.

Wait a Moment do Farmers or slaves use farming Tools or do they use the Power of kinetics to for example put seeds in the ground and yield crops?

They use farming tools. The power of kinetics is nothing that everyone is a) capable of b) skilled enough to use in daily life.

You could understand it like this: Heat can preserve Weltengeist (after death for a while), Fire destroys it.

I'm thinking of a system where magic is the manifestation of one's will the stronger the will the stronger the magic also the will materialises into different magical objects for example I could have a sphere of bright red stone but you could have a spear and I'm thinking that all the objects would have the same color and appear to be made of the same material(carnelian) and the stronger the will the brighter the magic object/artifact
