His foundation is solid, just by looking at his stance and punch placement along with his footwork when he's throwing rapid punches you can tell the man is a knock artist.
I agree, the people think the footwork is dancing like Micheal Jackson or James Brown.... The Beterbiev footwork is the displacement one foot left, right or back to found an angle, all time in a position to throw a solid punch. Sometimes he is on his toes and turn around to destabilize his opponent . He is rarely out of balance... He works all time on little things. It's difficult to plan a fight against Beterbiev. He is different fight after fight. He can change his strategy very quickly. Browne, Smith jr and Yarde it's 3 different Beterbiev...
Coordination, boxing IQ, balance, body mechanic ability...He has it all. Compact, centered, rooted, cleaned, solid and relaxed...Beautiful to watch. And what about the drill session in the sand?! Thank you for posting this. It provides a complete compilation of several classic component parts of the craft: such as footwork drills, and/eye coordination, speed and punching volume, shadow boxing with weights, shoeshine, moving around, at different tempos and rhythme...Backward, forward, side to side...That is educational, really.
