Facts. There is absolutely no robbery here. I had Beterbiev winning. I don’t even have an issue if you felt Bivol won. I just didn’t see it that way. But it was close. But robbery doesn’t exist here. Lot of people have no idea what a robbery really would be in boxing.

After the fact it made sense to go 115-113 in favor of Beterbiev. Bivol is so great that he was able to keep it close. Beterbiev was like a boulder going down hill and Bivol was the master of not getting flattened. Beterbiev was constantly pressuring him and at the end of the fight the punch stat was almost dead even. The bull, Beterbiev,edges this out. Bivol was a masterful matador, but he sid not slay the bull

I had Beterbiev up two rounds, but that’s not why he won. BB fought, and Bivol boxed. 10,11 & 12 Bivol ran way, neither left it all in the ring. I think Beterbiev would have, if Bivol had been willing to, but he wasn’t, and that was obvious to me. Your take is legit.

@@summers2361 The reality that the Bivol fan boys have to admit is that Beterbiev was actually scoring with more punches that were delivered with authority. Close fight but they only saw what they wanted to see. I had no horse in the race. When the fight was announced for a few months I felt Bivol was going to be the winner, more recently I sat on the fence. Both great fighters. Both great ambassadors of the sport and both would have been worthy winners and would have my support. This time it's Beterbiev. Next time...who knows.

@@Bukketdwi I’m off of watching the fight. Bivol started off well, but he was fading. He threw a lot of quick flashy punches, but was landing mostly on the arms. In the later rounds he was getting worked and would throw ineffective flurries to keep Beterbiev off him. The last 3 rounds all he tried to do was survive.

Bivol respected Beterbievs power but wanted to test his chin after he caught him good. That made sense, but Bivols power ultimately did not deter BB. Joshua's critical mistake was throwing a foolish predictable punch that is easily countered.

I had bivol winning by 1 round live but after watching again I think beterbiev took it in the last 2 rounds especially after that big body shot in the 11th in think. Beterbiev started slow and had to pace himself a lot to conserve energy. He took off the gas pedal in round 9 to attack more in championship rounds. He was not as aggressive as he used to be, because he is almost 40 and he had a knee surgery 5 months ago. He is still a beast though. He beat a young, technically near perfect boxer in his absolute prime. Beterbiev's power and will, along with his underrated skills...

What I saw in rounds 1-10 is that Bivol usually won the first 2/3 of a round and then Beterbiev would come out and throw flurries the last minute or even just 30 seconds. How you lose 2/3 of a round and judges say you won it is weird to me. I didn't see Bivol as rocked from this exchange you highlighted, but it did let both fighters know Bivol couldn't stand and exchange with Beterbiev, which is why he simply guards and moves until Beterbiev stops the assault, as he did during rounds 1-10. Beterbiev simply didn't stop in rounds 11 and 12, so he easily won those last two. We saw Bivol started to smartly adjust and exchange better in the last round, but he didn't win it. Bivol usually goes in and does combos when the opponent backs up, whether they got rocked or not. He does that against everyone. I had it 115-113 for Bivol but didn't mind the draw either. I think Beterbiev gave up too many early rounds.

I picked Bivol to win by middle to late stoppage. Beterbiev is older - and his recent injury even more persuaded me to go with Bivol. When Bivol was the favored fighter - that also showed me that I was not alone in that thought. I expected Bivol to do better in the latter rounds for the very same reasons. When I saw the highlights of the fight, I saw the judges were correct in the scoring: either 7 to 5 or right about there. A few rounds could have been called even. My score would have been 115-113. Ego, I have to give it to you again. Even though the majority of the experts seem to be saying that Bivol was the real winner you did not get intimidated by them. You stuck to your belief in what had taken place, and I have to agree. You did it AGAIN! Props to you, Ego.

...Dmitry won the quality exchanges and blocked most shots.. Artur is a different beast pressed the fight for an expected tko but was denied then had to win catch up rounds and hope for a decision.un chartered territory . .. Dmitry withstood Arturs heavy pressure strategy and kept calm didn't get caught and outboxed him enough to stay in the fight .Shocked Beterviev team they couldn't believe they got the win . No doubt most people judge fights based on their personal aesthetics. Some go for who lands their favorite punches and flashy punches and discount the steady scoring blows and body shots and ring generalship. People also make a big deal when "their" guy loses a close fight. It is okay to maintain how you score a fight but you have to be aware when a fight is close and has many close rounds that the judges may see it different than how you do and the fight has the potential to go either way.

Pacquiao vs Bradley 1 was example of robbery Bradley tried to box and trade with pacquiao but bradley's punches looks like slaps cause he can't move pacquiao and most of it was blocked by pacquiao. It looks good when bradley throws combos but most of it was partially blocked and not clean punches but the difference was when pacquiao explodes it's apparent bradley was stunned. It shakes bradley. He's losing his balance. Even it's competive bradley took more damage.

Bivol was trying to make a statement that he wasn't going to be pushed around. And honestly that's why beterbiev didn't get as aggressive with bivol as he would have with other opponents. And it's because bivol tried to press at certain times in the fight is why he gased out the last 3 rounds. It was a gamble he was willing to take but didn't work. And the fight was still close. If bivol didn't lose gas and outboxed him the last three rounds then we would of been looking at kinda an easy fight for bivol. If not for the last 3 rounds it wouldn't have been close.

I had Bivol winning by a round or a draw but I have zero complaints about the ruling fasho because Beterbiev did his shit. To me it all depends on how high or low you value the 4 scoring criteria and it’s obvious that two of the judges value affective aggression over the rest and im cool with that.
