I thought noone under the age of 30 would survive a video this long without some memes in between, so there you go… Also, Nick Batt is the man. Get you AUDIOFUSE HERE: tinyurl.com/WUFUSE
My pleasure! I remember your RME video, how come you are upgrading the setup? Let me know if you have any specific questions I forgot to answer in the video. edit: beware of the weird implementation of the LOOPBACK feature, I know you are also using this…
@@annebokma4637 Yeah, I had the 1820 which I think has MIDAS preamps. And wasn't bad. But I would say ARTURIA is a level above in audio & built, which it should be, as the price is higher. But as we all know, you can make good recordings on anything. It's the song that counts, not the gear :)
@@SONWU true that... And any interface can be turned into Dante this way. Ideal if you have a second space to record in. But not the interest to go Yamaha dm3
There is a similar product for those who can't afford the Arturia from ESI for about $540 which is about $800 less called the ESI U168 XT the big difference is the ESI has 4 mic pre amps 16 line inputs 10 line outputs midi and spdif (no Adat). But If you can afford the Arturia its a great device for sure, but if you are on a super tight budget because of inflation or like most musicians you are just. broke the ESI is an option.
@@SONWU Great review by the way the Arturia is nice, I had a friend buy the ESI and he was happy with it but he originally wanted the Arturia but he only had $600 to spend. The ESI doesn't have all the nice software features and driver support but it has similar i/o. Cheers!!!
Hi SON WU, I know who you are! So yeah, in my home studio I have an M-Audio 192-8 to input sounds into my computer. But I also have a ZAOR desk with a shelf for rack mount gear... and the right side is actually empty... my left side is my power supply (PYLE PS 1000)....so I will listen to this carefully and make an informed decision... nice video thanks
good video and while a lot of the video clips are funny they are also excessive. my advice is cut the movie clips down by 75% and keep the most funny ones.
If it had Dante or AVB I would switch over from MOTU now, but nope. I have 3 interfaces, all expanded with ADAT, connected via AVB and without that connectivity, my studio is crippled. If there was AVB on it I could just drop 3 of these in and be happy and a little lamb.
This seems like a really good rackable interface but i do not understand why this doesnt have individual dials for each inputs volume, like how Focusrite does on their 18i20
I have Arturia Audio Fuse Studio. Can I connect two interfaces by adding the Arturia 16Rig interface to my Mac? whether all inputs and outputs in both interfaces will be visible in Audio Fuse Control Center and Ableton. Will it be Plug&Play or do I need to install any additional drivers?
I can't really speak on the specifics as I haven't tried it. But from what I understand: You could theoretically use them together. In which case I would send the ADAT outs from the STUDIO into the 16RIG, and let the 16rig be the device that is connected to the Mac, in this case the 16rig will be your interface, while the STUDIO functions as an ADAT expander. You CAN'T run both interfaces at the same time PLUG & PLAY, for those use cases you would have to set up what's called an aggregate device…and even then, I don't know how this would work with the Control Center. Hope. this helps!
Man I've been thinking its time to move away from UAD apollos but I'm so locked into the plugins I spent money on 🤦🏽♂ (ps the dopamine now clip cracked me up)
I personally haven't tested it (but had the Ultralite mk4). It looks like a great alternative if you are okay with less line inputs. (you also gain some things like DSP processing)
@@notsure1135 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AUfoIy-KU28.html the 27.8 msec was at 512 samples Buffer size, which I should have mentioned. It performed as well as the UAD.
HUB input just add more USB connections to your computer. USB midi connections let you use MIDI gear that doesn’t have 5pin and use it to control the AUDIOFUSE etc.
I’m not professional, but word clock comes into play when you have more than one pre-amp connected to adat and one of them can’t be slave. With word clock you can tackle this problem. I bought the EVO 16 instead. It’s a lot cheaper, who needs additional usb or midi? Not me.
Thanks for helping out! Sure, the EVO is a good budget option. I have a question about that one though…in videos it always looks like the EVO interfaces have a rubberized coating, is that the case? If so, that disqualifies them for me.
@@SONWU i can assure you, there is no rubber involved 😃. The evo is a big, big surprise for me. It’s sooo much better than my previous motu 828es. So currently i have the evo 16, sp8 and Octopre. I am very happy with this setup.
@@SONWU at least this I wanted to leave here. I have no right for any claims but my reason to watch gear videos and other videos. So there are some channels where someone has to watch 15 minutes of storytelling and sponsorship until it gets to 1 minutes of information or the real entertainment. So if I feel a similar pattern evolving I quickly quit. I have no problems watching longer videos. I know that that it's some work to make a video but there are also reasons to look at it and have fun and taste and expectations differ.
