No, the snare simply is garbage on this unit and all the sounds on this are not flexible at all.

O use a lot of different speakers but the Audio here is being fed directly into the camera bypassing any speakers.

Remember that youtube adds compression, so any noise in the signal chain will get louder during quiet moments. You don't know if that noise is coming from Drumbrute or anywhere else downstream. That said, it is analog, so prob noisier than a digital piece crap like electribe.

It was created mostly for microhouse and minimal house how the snare takes over aint really that important there. French are deeper listenings. in order to find the best drum machine for you you need to search for culture listenings. Take rytm for ex the king of techno aka german. But for microhouse projects sucks like big time and the four blows it away there. Also drumbrute much better for those projects. If ya want more versatile sounds all in one get a sampler r/box like mpc or the new roland however i do agree about price Cyclone analogic is much superior and is like 80 pounds less

I really wanted to like this one, the price is right, and I like the layout and workflow, but the sounds themselves aren't my cup o tea. maybe the drum brute 2 will improve on this.

I don't think it sounds terrible at all. IMHO the problem is that people compare the raw sound to compressed and heavily processed 909 sounds (or even to layered sounds). In my opinion, the Drumbrute is an analogue drum machine done right. It sounds phat in the studio and live, it's very versatile and great fun to play with.

Christoph Burstup Weiss agreed, I think people need to listen to this machine raw and a 606 raw to realise that it just sounds like an analogue machine with no processing
