Bought one of these 3 months ago, This is the best built midi controller ive owned. Solid aluminum build and the integration with the arturia plugins is unmatched. plus i use it with the mpc2 software mapped to my specific use case and the integration with studio one is magnificent!

I have learned that it always depend on your purpose and use of the board. I have used keyboards that were $600 and made me thousands of dollars compared to keyboards I had that were $3,300. Always appreciate your knowledge of so many things 👏🏽💪🏾👍🏽

One of the most important things with the MK2 is Analog lab, its dope, for some reason the Minimoog was unlocked and that's dope on it's own.

I have the exact setup (mpc x with Keylab 49). I'm going to be putting them together in a few days. I have some questions. How does Keylab connect with the MPC? Do you use an external audio interface with your computer for keylab or does it use the mpc x as an audio interface? Thanks! 🤙

The Keylab is dope. As far as my setup it is a bit over the top. I do use an audio interface with my computer but the Keylab is connected directly to the computer. My MPC is also connected directly to the computer as well. I am using the MPC in controller mode or connected to computer mode. From there when you open any Arturia VST the Keylab automatically knows and just works.

Hello. Great video 👍thanks. I have one question. I have MPC 2 software, MPC One in controller mode and Analog lab 5 installed, but I don't see Analog Lab on MPC in the plugin overview. How do I get Analog lab between plugins?

If you don't see it in your list of plugins then go into preferences and go to plugins then SCAN NEW and it should find your new plugins and add them to your available list.

@@GhettoStyles I tried that several times. The paths to the analog lab vst3 directory are set correctly. Still, it won't load anything. Reinstalling the MPC software didn't help either. Problem with VST3? I tried to solve it through Kushview Element, but it can't see it either.

@@GhettoStyles Hi. Problem solved. I tried to install MPC Beat, it asked for admin permission to access the directories when scanning the VST and then loaded them. I checked the MPC2 permissions and set everything to admin and it works.

Do the faders map to the mixer faders of the MPC Software?

In MIDI control mode you can map the faders 🎚️ but you can only do 8 at a time. I’m not sure if it’s worth doing though. P

Hey bro I kno this a question Thts not pertaining to this video but please tell me how do u get kicks,808s, claps,hi hats, etc to use in controller mode. I love working in controller mode wit the software on my MPC live 2 to use my 3rd party plugins but didn’t kno I can’t use my drum kits exspansions tht I got on my MPC. Cool. I have a couple of videos for that. I use my MPC primarily in Controller Mode. You can install your expansions into controller mode by dragging them and dropping them onto the software. Hi man, great review. Now how do you record the sound from analog lab so they are recorded in the mpc? Via audio or through the usb connection to the computer?

The keyboard itself doesn’t make any sounds. However, the included library in its VST instruments are massive.

However, I am not aware about how to take the sound from the VST to the MPC. Do you take the audio from PC back to the MPC?

@@emiliolorenzini8050 oh ok. Got it. Sorry about the confusion. The short answer: No I am not. In this example I am running the MPC in CONTROLLER MODE where it acts as a controller for the MPC SOFTWARE or it can act as a MIDI device for just about anything. While in CONTROLLER MODE you can load almost ANY VST installed on your computer into the MPC SOFTWARE along with the VST instruments made by AKAI which is what I did here. I rarely run my MPC X in standalone because I feel it is much more powerful in controller mode. (My opinion) Now I do route sounds out of my computer back into the MPC in case I want to sample something from the computer or use the AUTOSAMPLER to turn a VST sound into a Keygroup but I did not use that at all in this video.

In the MPC ONE on the TRACK section you tap the icon that looks like a small plug 🔌 then in the program section it will allow you to select your VSTS. Once you select Analog Labs the keyboard will automatically recognize it and you can do everything else from the keyboard if you want.

@@GhettoStyles thanks for the feedback. I'm picking up an mpc one and I really want to create something to teach my son to use without the pc/mac attached. I was thinking about getting a Mac mini to load up all the vst and use this keyboard to navigate without a monitor.

@@mixedbyv I am using an iMac Pro with a 12 core Xeon processor and 64GB of ram. It works very well on my system but before you make this purchase you might want to consider waiting for this new keyboard 🎹 Akai is bringing. It might be worth a look.
