This is great, thanks! But, IMPORTANT NOTE for people who are still having issues, as I was. If your Mackie control surface is disabled with an orange icon then go to Logic Pro X > Preferences > Advanced Tools, and make sure that the Control Surfaces option is checked. Mine was unchecked and I was unable to get this to work. Checking that solved all my problems. Again, thanks for the great tutorial cukis!

Appreciate this tutorial! Do you know if there is any way to have the knobs/encoders automatically assign to the corresponding Smart Controls for a given instrument? With my Oxygen Pro, I have to manually reassign the knobs each time I change the instrument I'm controlling via Smart Controls.

Re-visiting this post, my Arturia midi recently stopped working out of nowhere and I’ve tried everything I can think of and seen on the Internet to get it working and nothing yet. So here’s a list: I’ve tried different USB cables, tried different Midi’s so it’s not just Arturia specific. My USB hub reads my external hard drive but not my midis. I tried the whole Midi Setup thing on Mac and it leads nowhere because it simply isn’t reading the midi so the Arturia Midi Control Center is out of the question since it doesn’t read it. I also tried following these steps again and setting up a new Mackie controller in Logic and of course nothing because it doesn’t read it. I also downloaded Midi Monitor and again it doesn’t work because it doesn’t read it. The Midi turns on perfectly fine like any other day so power is running to it. My USB hub is brand new and so is my macbook and my Arturia Keylab 49 MKII. If anyone has anything to add to this let me know so I can tell you if I’ve done it or not and I can get closer to solving this problem. Of course it’s completely frustrating and mentally exhausting, I just want to continue making music asap and getting over this. Thanks in advance! 🙏🙌

Hey Man I hope all is good Have some questions I wanted to ask how is this working with the new update of logic 10.5 ? Do I need to download a driver and if so where? If I need to manually assign parameters can I do that to any parameters within logic a third-party plug-ins? How How is the velocity and sensitivity can you do a gradual buildup on the on the drum pads?

On my version (firmware revision 1.1.2) it doesn't have the option to select a DAW - it only has Global Parameter and Pad Backlight as the options when you go into Device Settings. Really frustrating! Anyone know why?

Why doe the first fader on my Keylab not do anything in Logic but the second fader moves track one of a vst track? I've followed this word for word but it's not mapping correctly

is it normal that the midi in/out lights (the circles in the top next to the time and key signatures) both flash in logic when i play? i got a white noise blast while setting it up and have been too nervous to really try again until now

Seems like you have to download the Arturia software/driver to get the DAW control, it is not simply plug and play.Correct?

I just ordered this and was curious, do I need to upgrade my interface to one that offers midi? Or do all the functions work by running through usb?

This is just basic mapping which works on almost all controller. How about patches settings etc.?

Can you scroll through simple presets in logic ? This controller is quite robust and quite pricey ….I sure hope it can preform scrolling or navigating presets in logic ????

I cannot find the MIDI Control Center on my mac I thought by downloading everything in the Arturia Software Center that would include a bit confused

Would this also works for the lastest Arturia Product, the Keylab 88 Mkii?

Mine has an exclamation on the Mackie Control button when I added it. Nothing pops up when I click right of the mouse. Do you have any idea?? 😢😢
