Love y’all’s energy! I’m learning this on piano and playing the other pieces on cello. Listening to y’all play helps me with figuring out what is going on during the piece ❤
I also play cello and we (my orchestra) also once played this to an audition and won. I feel this happiness and fun so much. This piece is just pure electricity ❤
At 1:51 Little Miss Sister Girl rolls her sleeves up! I love this because of the history of this composer, Arturo Marquez. In his biography it says that his father was an itinerant musician, a Mariachi. It also says that his family moved to 1950's '60s Los Angeles, California and that he was exposed to many forms of music. It is my contention that Mr. Marquez was exposed to and influenced by black music of his day and that is why we hear bits of rhythm and blues, swing, and funk all wrapped up in this piece and which is interpreted and presented by these two musicians so adeptly. I NEVER get tired of hearing this. Thank you! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arturo_Márquez
