Toscanini keeps them in line. No interpolated high notes at the end of the quartet! :)

The announcer says this is the third act of Rigoletto - - but the label says Act IV.

The libretto of Rigoletto indicates that it is, in fact, in four acts. But the first two acts are performed together in all modern productions because of the brevity of the first act (less than 15 minutes). So this is, in actuality, act four.

La Milanov fu Gilda nell'edizione del 25 maggio 1944. Ma nella pubblica esecuzione del 25 luglio 1943 cantò la Ribla. Siamo fortunati ad avere due Terzi atti, ma molto sfortunati a non avere il resto!
