Just watched your wonderful video. Heading to Aruba Monday, though I have been several times to Boca Catalina and Tres Trapi I could not spot the turtles. You mentioned morning we always went I the afternoon. I will follow your advice and go in the morning. I captured the water life so beautifully! Love all your videos!!

Love this relaxing video, thanks a lot my friend! We really like to spend the day at Boca Catalina. We often were lucky and used to relax underneith the wooden parasols and enjoy snorkeling and watching the clear blue water over there! 🙂

Love both beaches! i want to say thank you for your videos, june of this year we went to Tres Trapi after watching a video of yours that showed where to see the sea turtles. My wife and I were amazed at seeing them in the ocean. The second day going out i was able to see 8-10 in one area and a bonus of a manta ray cruising through and going right up to the sea turtle. All on video for some great memories! We love Aruba and hope in the near future to buy a condo for a second home away from home.

So question for you: wasn't that area in general known as Malmok back in the day? At least that's how I remember it when we used to go snorkeling there back in the 1980's. Catamarans with tourists used to anchor a bit off shore in order to access the coral reef. You could also just access it from shore by parking your car north of the (then) Holiday Inn for beach access.

Yes, correct. In the past it was generally called Malmok (and Arashi beach further up).

Snorkel Tres Trapi in mid December and very little marine life and Boca Catalina full of beautiful fish but for swimming and relaxing Tres Trapi is the most calm and crystal clear water I have ever swim from shore

Great video Mr. Ambassador, while the kids have snorkeled many places around the island Tres Trapi is the families go to because of the turtles even though I've seen many past Arashi surface while fishing. Hope I never hook into one. Returning end of the month and will be looking out for you on one of your walk abouts with slim to none chances as I shattered my heel and ankle a few years back making it difficult for long walks or swimming. But will definitely be causing a traffic jam (Donkeys) or five!

Goeie timing, deze video. In NL een grijze regendag vandaag ... en als ik dit weer zie, heeeerrrrrlijk. Beide beaches zijn mooi. Boca Catalina is inderdaad iets rustiger, en meer koraal en vis te zien. Maar de schildpad bij Tres Trapi .... ook erg mooi. En zo helder water, prachtig blauwe kleuren. Je woont op een vd mooiste plekken op aarde Hyro.

When we were there in August we went to a small reef between the Riu and the Divi and I was very impressed with the amount of fish. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

We are trying to plan our drive for the day in Aruba. We made a list of a lot of places to visit but have been told it would be a LOT to do with such a limited amount of time. Someone said for a cruise stop and having a Jeep for 7 hours to pick either the North side or South side. We pick up in Machebo Beach Resort. Tres Trapi was one of the stops people mentioned since picking the Jeep up on the north side of the island. Any thoughts or recommendations? We have the Jeep from 8:30AM - 4:30PM. The natural pool is not something we would do, but Tres Trapi looks nice.

Hello Scott, go for the Tres Trapi. You can also go through the Arikok National Park and finish for a swim at Baby Beach or Rodgers Beach. We just went there today and learned that you don't go in the afternoon... Very wavy and no fish or turtles and you need to be experienced to do it for sure at that time. I used the hotel equipment and I do not suggest that at all haha. I drank more water than I should have. Thank you for your amazing videos. It really helped us enjoy this wonderful island.

Sorry to hear that you missed the turtles Rick :-( In the morning is indeed the best time but it remains a natural habitat and there are no guarantees you will see them. Wish I could go with you myself but I will be very busy this week.

Was just at Tres Trapi 2 weeks ago. Went there after watching your video. Less than 30 feet from beach I saw a turtle, and had a small barracuda watching me.

Yes they are, just before you reach the Arashi Beach. Once you see the first house at the beach side (after the Ritz) that is where Tres Trapi is.

They are my weakness too (The Turtles). It depends but generally I think around 12 to 15 feet but it can go to 25 to 30 feet depending on how far out you go. They are marked now, at least the Boca Catalina is.
