Take a video tour of our forward facing balcony cabin from our recent Caribbean cruise. It's the first time we have sailed all the way forward at the pointy end on deock 9 cabin number 9109.
We discuss the pros and cons of this stateroom with a slightly larger balcony than most and a steel fronted view over the crew pool deck. We were worried about the motion of the ocean and the potential wind over the deck.

You're welcome. We loved Arvia, great places to eat. Deck Sunset Bar waw our favourite. Amazing views from the forward cabins especially when going in and out of port. Does get a bit windy at sea 🌊

Hi nige , just want to pic your brain. In this vlog you mention wifi on Arvia. Is the onboard wifi free or do you have to pay. I'm asking because I'm told you have to pay £18 per day per person. Ty in advance

Hi Chris, you do have to pay for WiFi unfortunately. It wasn't very good from what we can remember. We've just got off Anthem of The Seas who use Starlink and that was excellent.

very interesting, of course this is like 20x the space you get a junior enlisted sailor on a submarine, which is my only experience at sea lol. So, P&O being a British cruise line, would you say most aboard are British and Americans? I like the idea of going on Ponant, smaller ship (they use motor yachts basically), more adventurous intent (like on some of their ships they do scuba diving), but it's a French line and though I studied French in high school, that was 27 years ago now! lol. I like that Ponant is French flag and the P&O Arvia is British flag. That way we know the crew is paid well and treated well, safety standards are good, and the jurisdiction is a good one, should we end up as victims of a crime aboard! (Not sure what the British equivalent of our FBI is, but I would much rather them investigate a crime than Panama! 🙂I raise my glass to The Special Relationship! God Save the King and God Bless America!)

Much more space we would imagine than on a submarine and hopefully you don't get the underwater experience :) Yes a very British aimed cruise company in particular when you cruise from Southampton. Much more of a mixed market on other cruise lines like Royal Caribbean. Some friends of ours have worked on the ships as Security, usually they are ex Police Officers with years of investigative training behind them.

Thank you very much Phil. We really enjoyed our cruise and it was a lovely cabin. It can get windy up at the front and you do feel the ship move more than midship

Any good tips on sunbathing areas & did you get drinks package? & do you get people putting towels on beds & leaving them 😒

@anthony stansfield we loved deck 8 by the sunset bar. No sunbeds there but very comfy seats and a great view over the wake of the ship. There are loads of places to sunbathe but space directly around the pools is limited and fills up quickly. Yes they do get reserved with towels 😔 As long as you realise you might not get a specific place to sit you can easily find somewhere. We didn't get the drinks package as Kaz doesn't drink and you can't buy just one.
