What a composer. Everything he touches turns to gold.

This is a great piece. Sounds like something from the beginning of the XXth century, while it isn’t. Reminds me of Anatol Kos-Anatolsky’s piano concerti.

Wow.

It is actually the concertino from 1956, revised two years later. Charming piece.

Revised into a concerto, I hope, since I have seen the source material. And it says "Violin Concerto ".

@@johannrufinatscha4210 It could well be! My source was the Latvian radio programme (LR3) from 31 March, 2013 which indicated "Arvīds Žilinskis / * Koncertīno vijolei un orķestrim / Valdis Zariņš, Latvijas Nacionālais simfoniskais orķestris un diriģents Centis Kriķis", but this doesn't mean that the composer had not revised the title and perhaps the piece in the meantime. The difference between a concerto and a concertino is dependent on the composer's appreciation, likewise some sinfoniettas such as Korngold's or Reger's are more developed than many symphonies. What I find a bit more troubling is the tonality; the first movement is in E minor, the second in E flat major, the third starts in G major and ends in E major, so I wonder where the A minor comes from.

@@ttle18 that is from the back of the CD which was uploaded into an archive. I will have to check on the tonality, and if what you say is true, I will end up having to recreate the video, take this one down, and upload the corrected version..

@@ttle18 forget it. I'll just correct it in the description and title, with a disclaimer.

Is there anywhere I can find the second movement of this violin concerto? I really love it so much and I have no luck finding it. Thank you 🙂
