The Arwa Cave is a relatively new invention that quickly became one of the must-see attractions of Cherrapunji, Meghalaya. Arwa is a large cave, but only a small part of it is open to tourists. There are fine cliffs and small holes leading to other parts of the cave.
The peculiarity of the cave was that soon after entering the cave there was a large pond on the right. Above it, some ice, fossils of marine animals and sea shells can be found inside the caves. It is believed to be millions of years old, with marine fossils dating back about 30 million years. There are many interconnected caves; Some go up, some into branches.
The Arwa cave is dark, and it is good to carry a strong torch with you. Arwa Cave is relatively new and non-touristy, so it is one of the best offbeat destinations in India.
Guides are available outside the entrance to the cave, and the guide charges are nominal. Fossils on their own are difficult to find, so guidance is needed.
