I remember when LOTR was all there was aside from the other few Star Wars and Potters. No Avatar, Avengers, Marvels or Hunger Games Twilight etc. This was so popular it had a radiant spring of toys everywhere in stores and on household items and the forums specifically for this series dominated the internet dwarfing other communities. It lasted for several year from 2000 to 2005 and then as the CGI era kicked off these died off quickly. But I haven't forgotten. All my friends siblings and classmates played as children was this outstanding imagination of a world and I owe most of my adult characteristics to this series. I'm collecting things from those days and returning to old games and creating profiles on lotr internet sites etc. I will never move on. Only going back. And it's for the better. I'll carry this world with me to my grave.
These have not died off even though it's been more than 20 years. Aged really well given the tech. The music is timeless and genius, the visuals stunning, so much else about them magnificent. LOTR books were a lifetime's devotion by a genius, and the movies a dedicated labor of love, and it shows in every aspect of them.
I had the privilege to translate the Trilogy for Holland & Belgium in 2001/2002/2003 and apart from the films the soundtrack was incredible... an experience never to forget...

This is how I imagined elves to be when I read the books; possessing an ethereal beauty, no matter if they were male or female, and being wise beyond human comprehension.
Sorry to say this but definitely Elves should not have asian or african look like those f.e. in The Witcher series etc. It is a fact and that´s how the fantasy lore is. I'm tired of how these races are forcefully added to current fantasy when it was never in any book design or author's intention, today it's just because of some political or racial pressure so that no one is wronged.

Quite the contrary..... it was not at all underated, but ecen accentuated and developed as a story 4hat dies nit really exist in tge original books by Tolkien; ....abs it was put on much higher level also and fir that we should give credits to Peter Jackson & Fran Walsh.
Maybe the reason why that romance worked so well. It was, for the most part, subtle and peaceful. Veggo and Liv were not over the top, they were as quiet as the music backing them up.
And finish in great... Enya's voice ... the voice that reach all that is amazing in our world... And, at this moment that we are living and others are surviving, humankind need her voice more than ever. Magnificient ❤

I never had read Tolkien (back then)... but one thing made a sudden CLICK in my head, when the music change at the moment they arrived to Rivendell, the first house of the Elves. My thoughts went immediately to Celtic Culture (Irish and Scottish Hihglands) and the gaelic language...so Enya, show up in my head and I thought, it's impossible not to use Enya's voice, on the soundtrack of this movie (this all happen in my head in seconds...). And latter on, after saw the first movie, started to search in the netvand there was "May it be" performed by Enya! And was amazing what I founded out about of making the all trilogy "Lord Of The Rings"... an outstanding production, never saw so much dedication to developed so many things that I could ever imagine... and I still have to congrats all the people that made this amazing trilogy. And Peter Jackson's about all of it, the most amazing trilogy ever made at that time in the world... He raise J.R.R. Tolkien and the master piece "Lord Of The Rings" to a level that even Tolkien was not prepared... What Tolkien would have said if he saw the all trilogy?
