Felt like David vs. Goliath, I’ve always admired how much power Giorgi can produce with a smaller frame. Glad to see her win I love her game, if she could do this more consistently she could definitely win a grand slam!
@@spencerrosant5794 her ground strokes are beautiful. Idk why she doesn’t win more matches, but hopefully this win gives her the confidence to go one more match into this tournament or even win it. She’s good on grass so maybe with the confidence, she can make a run at Wimbledon
It looks like some of our friends here do not know what a Grand Slam stands for. It's winning all four major tournaments within the same calendar year. Camila is going on 30, she is currently ranked 80 in the world, and the only tournament she ever won was in 2015, a minor Rosemalen Open, part of the 250 Series. Considering her career, so far, she seems to have more success on grass.
I like Camila's game but she's so inconsistent. Really wish she could find a balance in her shots. Anyway, this is really good win for her to boost her confidence
Yes, if Giorgi was mentally stronger would be a top 10. Beating 2 top 10 in this tournament (starting from qualys) is excellent...next week? We'll see🙂
Wooow!! Incredible tennis Giorgi, very patient and the attitude is amazing. Sabalenka started with a bang then it subsided in the first set, the second set she was unstoppable but, the final set she started fading away. Congratulations Camila excellent tennis 👌👌👍👍
I love Camila. She has the blood of a Roman warrior. I liked how Sabalenka was all cocky, smiling with every brutal winner, then Giorgi just wipes that cheeky grin off Aryna's face.
Giorgi has played well in the two matches I have seen at this event. She has outmatched players ranked much higher. Very glad she put out Sabalenka who should have been penalised for the ridiculous screaming - it amounts to gamesmanship in my opinion.
Giorgi is one of my favorite players. Serena William's is my all time favorite but Giorgi is one to watch. She has all the tools to win a major. She is powerful, determined, plays with passion, strength and just has that warrior attitude when on court. There has never been a match she didn't give it her all. Love she won this match. Couldn't stand her opponent grunting. They really shouldn't allow that. I dont think that is fair to the other player. Just awesome to see Giorgi getting better and better. I believe she has it in her to win so much more.
Camila is the one I really enjoy watching. She's got the fight of a big dog, the reflexes of a cat, and the power of a mule. She has a splendid game, sans a few things. One is her composure. Sometimes, her focus tends to be inconsistent. The second is how she strikes. At times she just hits shots that set up her opponents winners. These observations are not a knocks against her game. They are things that she has already fixed without much retooling. Last, Camila is very seasoned player who still has a strong body. This is an increasingly rare thing -- especially among women players who have been on the circuit for a long time. She now has a lot of court smarts that a lot of players could only dream of. I hope she stays healthy and injury free. I hope, ten years from now, she is still winning :)
Don't agree with bad comments on Sabalenka such as dull player or powerful but nothing more.. She is one the best player in the world now and she deserves it..!
7:43 Sabalenka tries the late (when the ball is almost on her opponent's racquet)groan/scream, to distract...backfires on her. Love it. Serena would try this stuff once in a while as well.
Victoria merecida , Camila estaba jugando muy bien y perdía sus juegos por falta de suerte , continuó luchando y consiguió ganarle a una top 10 , tiene mucho talento y físicamente está en su plenitud
I don't see Sabalenka winning a slam, she's too hot and cold plus if she's not firing on all cylinders she self destructs. Added to that she is expected to win one which doesn't help. Pliskova 2.0
I hope she never wins one, her grunts are horrible to listen to and she is too arrogant. Hate the fact she smashes her rackets like that when things don't go her way.
@@santoshthapa8398 Do you have a reason for every preference you have? People like different things. I'm just delighted the player who doesn't need to screech at jet-engine decibels won.
Giorgi outta be one of the most if not the most enigmatic and unpredictable player in the circuit!!! she's always got the game and talent, but her mind plays funny tricks on her!! I hope she can get more consistent in the years she's got left!!
I feel like these highlights were really odd. In the fist set, which Giorgi won, we saw 10 points that Sabalenka won and 6 points that Giorgi won. Similar thing in the third set. Was Giorgi just getting a lot of points on Sabalenka's errors?
Camila was very calculated , calm played smart 😅 and won ! She let Sabalenka play hard to her own detriment ! Sabalenka had no reason to lose this , but her shoulder Chip caused her this ! She had it all ! 😅😅
Nah, Camila Giorgi still hasn't finished convincing me with her powerful tennis, maybe because she still has her father as a coach. Giorgi is one of those players who take one step forward and two steps back, at least the next round they eliminate her. IMHO!🤫🤷🏻♂️🎾
Yeay, no more terrible grunting! Wish these broads understood how incredibly terrible it sounds, hopefully Camila makes it to the final, no grunting - and excellent power/pace achieved!
Sabalenka played with a mirror image of herself in the form of great & equally big hitting Giorgi...🤣 I was waiting for this mouth watering encounter since Sabalenka burst on to the scene in mid 20s. I guess, though they had met already once before when Sabalenka got the better of Giorgi, but today Giorgi has come up with vengeance to return the favours....😇 Pity for Sabalenka, as after claiming her first Clay Court/1000 Title at Madrid, she has lost some very close & winnable matches moving on to this grass...🤷🏻♂️ Either ways I like both of these big hitters a lot...👍
I wish she could play this level more consistently. After big rise she always has long disaster period with falling down in rankings. Pavlyuchenkova is another example. Her team reminds Maria and her father who was so into match like he is about to play further instead of daughter anytime.
Why are tennis players such babies? Can you imagine if basketball players required silence when playing or shooting free throws? If a player in a professional sport can't handle sounds then they shouldn't be pro's. Maybe they should try their hand at a non-physical sport, like chess.
@@kaza2845 You can't compare team sports like basketball. Besides it is general rule in tennis, table tennis, badminton, squash. Grunting doesn't help in anything and it's not only distracting, but also incredibly annoying, tiring. Sharapova used grunting as a psychological weapon.
Giorgi is really strong yet very inconsistent!if she only has more precise hits and less unforced error i wouldnt doubt to see her lifting a major trophy someday.
Buen partido para ambas... Sabalenka mejoró bastante en comparación al torneo previo a este sobre cesped . Giorgi supo tener paciencia y control en los momentos claves del partido....es una buena jugadora pero muy irregular lamentablemente
