…started with this idea about putting natural audio underneath different synth timbres to act as a kind of “noise generator” that pops in and out. Soon it was something that went into every track and I learned that I enjoyed recording the sounds of all the different birds outside. Maybe they could become a part of this too.
The drums are a combination of the EG-101 and the RD-6 which were reinforced with midi samples from Garage Band, mostly the cymbals.
The bass was a sequence from the EG-101 which I also sent through the microKORG for extra bass of course.
The chords were the original take of the track which were done with the Kong Poly-800 and then quantized, that’s what gives it that extra stretchiness. The rhythm is a combination of various arpeggiations with the microKORG.
The Juno-6 made its way into the outro chorus because I decided I wanted to get it on every track. The main hook came towards the end of the process and was added with MS-1 while the alternate lead was done with the OB-12.
