As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning (1969) is a memoir by Laurie Lee, a British poet. It is a sequel to Cider with Rosie which detailed his life in post First World War Gloucestershire. The author leaves the security of his Cotswold village in Gloucestershire to start a new life, at the same time embarking on an epic journey by foot. (Wikipedia)

Have had a few laughs and pints with Laurie Lee in the Woolpack Slad on occasion he was a great character.

There's a break in the recording at about 47:00 lasting perhaps half a minute, with what sounds like overtaping by another programme. Not long enough to spoil it, but I'm surprised no-one else has flagged it.

Me too! I can't find any trace of it. I think it was made in the late 80's/early 90's.
