Takashi Miike's supernatural horror movie As the Gods Will was released in Japan in 2014.
Video games with violent content are played often by high school student Shun Takahata. One morning at school, he moans about how boring his life is, but all of a sudden, he is made to play the game Daruma-san ga koronda, in which losing means death.
The following game, Kagome Kagome, requires the students to predict within 10 seconds after the conclusion of a brief song which of four floating Kokeshi wooden dolls is behind them while they are blindfolded. If they don't, a red laser will strike them and the dolls will use telekinesis to telekinetically obliterate their bodies. The Kokeshi will explode if they fail, and one of them will reveal an answer key that unlocks the doors and lets the kids pass to the next level. By winning the game, Shun runs across Shoko Takase and saves her.

Converting an original clip to an animated flipbook is a time-consuming process that requires converting frames to photographs, coloring, improving, editing, rendering, and so on. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, and the video editing software Vegas Pro were used to create this flipbook effect.
