I can totally relate…my husband disrespected for 5 years and never cared about how I felt, all I did was cry until I decided to give him a test of his own medicine for just 3 months and he almost got heart attack. He’s so scared of the woman I’ve become 😂😂😂

We need more movies like this. To educate ppl on how antagonising ppl can be. This is a true definition of a narcissist. They antagonise you then when you react they act like your the problem. This is a beautiful story. Honestly it’s only someone who wants to change that will change. Many people won’t hear word no matter how loud you are, how much you cry, even when you speak out, when you give them a dose of their own they will still gaslight light you. I hope some will take a lesson from this story to look in the mirror and see how their behavior affects their loved ones.
What i really enjoy about Mr Uchenna's productions is that he takes his time in telling the story...you get to feel the emotions through out the movie and that is how a movie should be...
Alex was a narcissistic maniac. I was happy that Amanda got feed up and started to give him a dose of the same treatment he dished out to her. Mr. Leonard truly understood the assignment. He gave a phenomenal performance. Love the soundtrack song. Great performances by the entire cast. Uchenna Mbunabo…Thanks for bringing us great movies❤🙏🏽
As a "westerner" I have become so drawn to Nollywood, mainly because compared to regular Netflix, the movies are clean (no annoying disgusting homosexual scenes). But honestly, I don't understand why some African men (as I have observed in real life) try to get with non-Africans because only a fellow Nigerian/African woman can understand these types of men. Yes, men should be respected but not worshipped, God and man are not equal but man and woman are equal. Anyway love the ending of the movie and no marriage is perfect in any culture. Now I did not want this movie to end. Soooo glad to see Frederick Leonard back on the screen. I loved him and Anthony Woode together in this movie! Two greats! Two other greats: Patience and Onyii. The chemistry between both couples was really good! I hope to see more of them together in one movie. Thanks for the upload!
Alex character depicts the behaviour of a typical African man who believes that a man is the head of the family no matter what, whether wrong or right he call shots without any questions. Fred's brother and the house help have so much chemistry...i need them as main characters or have bigger scenes next movies...would love to see more of them. When they were by his car talking n then lady said she will be spending the nite that scene was excellent.
Wow, I have been there for real. Gaslight is so real. I thought it was me, I was told I am a drama queen and I was emotional. Then I was told I need to express my feelings and communicate. I thank God, I have recovered from the heart break and trauma. I have learned so much from my DV experience and I now can pray my ex husband would learn from it too. I am done with unhappiness and falsehood. Lord have mercy on all marriages, break the chains of any bondage and hurts. May there be understanding, respect, forgiveness and healing. Human love is NOT enough, agape love of Jesus rules in all relationships. In Jesus name. Amen
I was in Amanda's soup for six years. I got married at age 24 to a narcissist and it was hell. On the seventh year, I got a job and decided not to mind him anymore and boooom, he couldn't take it. I'm divorced and better now. This movie really got me remembering those times in that hell. Thanks to the whole crew

Narcissist always believed they're right no matter how you tried to tell or show them they're wrong. This movie is down to earth so many lessons to learn.
As a woman, I can understand the feeling of pain Amanda was trying to portray. But when the experience is real, the woman's reactions might render her mentally. The ending is my favourite part it was beautifully done and left me feeling satisfied. 😊I'm glad I took the time to watch this movie
Enjoyed the storyline. I was dreading from the first scene when Alex grabbed her neck that this would be a physical abuse storyline, I would not have been able to watch. Frederick acting is soo good in gaslighting of his wife and glad she gave him a taste of his own medicine. I loved the relationship between David and Onyi, it felt organic and genuine I was rooting for them. This movie was insightful in showing how your background plays an important role in your values and what is considered normal behaviour. Well done to the cast and crew for this production.
Fred felt that their parents had a perfect marriage, taking his father as a role model not knowing it was all pretence, he never knew his mother suffered for them to live, thank God for his brother who opened his eyes.Chai women can suffer for the sake of their children mtweeee. Kudos to the producer of this movie. You're watching this movie and this happened to be your experience in life l pray that God Almighty will perfect all that concerns you and put smiles in your faces IJMN.

I was watching a movie by the name of As We Are starring FREDERICK LEONARD, ONYII ALEX, PATIENCE UJAH, ANTHONY WOODE. Not knowing what to expect about it, seeing the twist on turns I had to pause several times with aw and what. Thank you to The Writers, The Producers, and The Directors, The Crews, The Actors and Actresses did fabulous job and applaud them for telling this fantastic and poignant story. to be told about a married couple and their relationship during this time between Alex and Amanda, and Amanda's feelings of unhappiness, being disrespected, talking down to as nothing and belittled. Be careful of who you look up to and everything that looks like gloss paint isn’t. Also, this life story of the past affects how the present is, Be aware of a partner and communication, understanding his childhood, and his life in general. Frederick Leonard plays the character Alex married to Amanda played by ONYII ALEX now sees Alex's character displaying narcissistic behaviour of a typical manipulative and controlling attitude towards her. I hope this movie shows you that allowing your partner to give up career and money is also a huge red flag in most cases, Be wise and alert. Never totally lose yourself and what brings you joy, happiness, and uplifting. False promotions bring false promises and false expectations through their lenses. Oyin the maid who looked up to them both social media started to see and felt a sense of shock and horror with disbelief . He believes that a man is the head of the home without any questions? Many people watching this amazing and beautiful movie would able to relate and say yes and yes they won’t hear a word no matter how you are telling him, it seems that you’re the issue when it's him all long, even when you speak out, whether how much you cry dem nuh see nothing wrong, only left individual feeling loss and dismay about their life and relationship. The day when you give them a dose of their own dam medicine bit by bit, dem a wonder what's wrong with you and complain to your parents, etc. In the end, Alex realised and acknowledged that he was wrong and was destroying his marriage on the wrong road losing the love of his life from what seen from a young child affected how happy marriage is supposed to be with your partner and to see in the mirror how their behaviour affects their world around them and loved ones extended families.

Very interesting movie. So many lessons learnt. This made me want to fall in love seriously😂. Thank you for not potraying the maid as that very naïve girl who needs a man to save her. She was decent and knew exactly what she wanted. I'm happy the wife stood her grounds. Shout out to all the strong ladies out there and to the very supportive gentlemen.
This movie was amazing, Freddie did his thing as usual. Onyii Alex always slays in everything she wears and her outfits are fire! This was a good portrayal of how our childhood and what we observe in our homes can affect our future relationships and marriages!
Some of my fav artists in this Phenominal film, cast, directing, story and production! Frederick is an icon actor who always delivers brillant character interpretations on multilevels, this was no exception! Onyi is an amazing artist who totally delivered as the wife in character, it was well portrayed and she got through to her man! They get the couple navigating wahala in marriage award for sure, their assignment was to bring it all together and they did. Love the ending! Patient and Anthony get the onscreen chemistry award in this film because their characters were so into each other at first glance, both were outstanding in their portrayals as supporting artists from different walks! Every film I see Patient in her similaries to Erica Campbell of Mary Mary fame is uncanny in my opinion. Ona is such a great artist in her own right, well done role as the compassionate friend! Sunshine and Isoken played their roles well. Bravo Everyone! Loved the film! Just my opinion, but I’d like to see a part 2 (smile) with twins and marriage, ha! The clothes and music were amazing! Love it! Thanks for sharing your cinematic gifts internationally!
